== History ==

The dream for a long-distance train came when Frederic Blijmackers traveled as a journalist on the royal train from ‘s Koningenwaarde to Brandenburg. Bent over a map of the entire continent of [[Benacia]], Bijmackers drew different routes for long-distance trains. The focus shifted to the direct connection between 's Koningenwaarde and Shirekeep.

Since 13 XI.1674 AN, all train services to and from Severnaya Gubernya have been canceled. The result is that there is no train service to Shirekeep. Only the train service to Eliria is operational.

==Express experience==

A description of the journey with the Orient Express, from the starting point in 's Koningenwaarde to Shirekeep.

==='s Koningenwaarde===

The Hoofdstation Noord in 's Koningenwaarde is the starting point for the Orient Express. The shielded platform is specially equipped to receive the often richer travelers, such as taxis and private drivers can drop their passengers directly on the platform and a red carpet to the entrances to the train. Travelers are personally welcomed by the staff, including the chief conductor and the chef. A ticket does not contain a number, but is in the name of the traveler.

The Orient Express is not a train service, like a commuter train. But is a train service in which travel, leisure and experience come together. Hence the term: "Orient Experience". In the days before the departure of the train, travelers arrive in 's Koningenwaarde. Often travelers stay in one of the hotels in the city. Some hotels are specially rented by the Company the Orient Express for travelers. But both in 's Koningenwaarde and in other cities, the Company has its own Orient Express hotels, often with the name: Oriental Hotel.

The train consists of at least 15 carriages, such as a saloon carriage, dinner carriage, luggage carriages and sleeping carriages. During the trip to Shirekeep, the locomotives will be changed every time the train crosses a national border.

When the train departs from 's Koningenwaarde, all passengers are invited in the salon carriage for coffee and chocolates. The train passes the buildings of 's Koningenwaarde faster and faster, while the other traffic moves slowly under and above the train tracks. The centre of the city is surrounded by a green belt and the A14 highway. This is followed by the northern suburb and the [[Paleys Raiselle]] can be seen for a short moment. Subsequently, meadows can be seen on the left and on the right there is a view of the river Zwette.

This canalized river connects the Rhijne with the Linge, which for centuries has provided a thriving economy in the region with in particular the city 's Koningenwaarde. The meadows are interrupted by parts of the [[Waarder Woud]]. Today, the Waarder Woud is only a fraction of its original size, but in the spring the forest turns purple and that compels writers to tales. Soon afterwards the meadows start again and one of the side branches of the Zwette is crossed. The places Berg and Kolmar come into view, respectively left and right of the railway line and river. The places are connected by a bridge over the railway and river, while the wheels rattle over the railroad switches. Both places have a common train station, with a main rail available for continuous trains, such as the Orient Express. The train whips past the station, after which the passengers get a view of the [[Abbey principality Kolmar|Abbey of Kolmar]]. This is located on the hills north of the place of the same name. The abbey remains visible for some time, as the railway line and the river circle around the hill of the abbey. While the adjacent road bends towards Justusbergh.

The '''Waarder Woud''' is a forest to the north-east of [['s Koningenwaarde]]. The forest is largely owned by the [[Archduchy 's Koningenwaarde]], a small portion is owned by the [[House of Vinandy]] and a small portion by the city 's Koningenwaarde.

The name "Waarder Woud" is a combination of "valuable" or "of value" and "forest". The Batavians distinguish two words, "wood" (Batavian: bos) (a tree-rich area) and "forest" (Batavian: woud) (a large forest). The Waarder Woud is the smallest of forests and an exception in the definition of 'woud'.

==History==

Nowadays the forest is much smaller than the original size. To the west, part of the forest has disappeared as a result of the [[St. Lucia's flood]], which also caused [[Château Paravel|Paravel]] to emerge as an island. The connection with the [[Hoog Falwawoud]] has completely disappeared as a result of deforestation over the centuries. That deforestation has reduced the forest around it to its current form, especially for the benefit of agriculture. The advancing city has bordered the forest on the south side.

With the construction of the [[Blanckenhof Palace]], the king has ensured joint management of the forest among all owners. There is still debate about the precise boundaries of the forest, mainly due to the new building plans of the city 's Koningenwaarde to the west of the railway 's Koningenwaarde - Kalla. There are also plans for reforestation to, for example, reconnect with the Hoog Falwawoud.

==Vegetation==

The landscape of the Waarder Woud is dominated by a variety of deciduous trees, in particular beech, oak and ash. This combination of tree species is ideal for a unique spectacle in the spring. The '''King of Batavia''' is the head of state of the Kingdom of [[Batavia]]. When a female ascends the Throne, she receives the title '''Queen of Batavia'''. The King does not only serve as head of state but is the figurehead of the Batavian Catologian Church, the chairman of the [[Hogerhuis]] and supreme commander of the armed forces, the [[Bataafse Strijdkrachten]].

Between 1578 AN and 1669 AN, the title of '''King of Batavians''' was used to refer to the King. This change of tradition began under [[Arkadius III]], who - unlike his predecessors - sought popular support among the masses. This subtle hint was meant to show the people that he wasn't their master, but more as an equal (or even servant). In the end, it didn't help him when faced with a coup d'état, but his successors would keep the title. It was in 1669 AN, under [[Arkadius IV]], that these changes were reverted with support on the nobility and high dignitaries.

On the day of the throne, the king or queen is dressed with the regalia and crown jewels:

* Willemian crown, as a symbol of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Batavia and the dignity of the King as head of state. The crown forged on behalf of good King William the Second, which serves as a symbol of dignity.
* Globe, symbolises Royal power, both worldly as spiritually, as King over Micras and the Batavian Kingdom.
* Scepter, symbolises justice, and the King as highest shepherd and judge of the nation.
* Golden Fleece, a woolen robe made of the finest gold wire. It has been part of the regalia for many generations and was in the possession of the Royal Family which once ruled the Kingdom of 's Koningenwaarde, before it united the territories into one country. Made with the gold of the mines to the east of Bosdaal and fabricated by crafstmen from all across the country.

The Kings of 's Koningenwaarde preceded the birth of a strong and centralised Kingdom. While, from a certain moment, more or less uniting the Batavians into a framework of loose cooperation and loyalty to the Crown, there was no political unity.

The several principalities, duchies and counties were eventually united in a centralised state under the leadership of the Regent [[Jodocus van Haltna]]. Batavia would transform from a union of ''States'' into a centralised monarchy. The First Kingdom would see the struggle between the absolutists (who sought to stop the parliament from taking to much power) and the more radical democrats. This would eventually led to the end of Arkadius I's short-lived reign and the ascension of his brother onto the Throne.

The '''House of Vinandy''' is a [[Batavia|Batavian]] royal family, originally from [[Vinandy]]. Monarchs from [[Amokolia]], [[Arcadia]], Batavia and [[Beneluccas]] originated from the family.

==Prima diviso==

Prima divisio des Vinandy is the house treaty of the House of Vinandy, in which the distribution of inheritances is regulated. This first distribution of the inheritances was drawn up by [[Frederik des Vinandy]] and has since been supplemented with annexes to the transfer of inheritances.

Prior to this house treaty, there was a strict regime of birth right (primogeniture), but other children often received gifts. Frederik des Vinandy wanted to prevent the many inheritances from leading to conflicts, such as succession wars.

|Today Frederik des Vinandy calls together his three sons to distribute all the possessions of the House des Vinandy. This division must retain the possessions, both in land and titles, for the family and provide foundation for later inheritance law.

Sons of the same house should live in peace and goodness.

To Arkadius Leopold, my eldest son, is assigned the claim to the throne of Batavia, the county of Vinandy and all possessions north of the Great Western Sea and south of the wall of Manuel.

Arkadius Hendrik, my second son, has been assigned the Duchy of Gascony and all possessions north of Manuel's wall.

To Gustavus Maurits, my youngest son, is assigned the claim to the throne of Arcadia and all possessions south of the Great Western Sea.

Insofar as the inheritance is passed on to children, this division applies to the sons. In the case of daughters, the own daughter is entitled to the assigned inheritance, but the inheritance does not transfer to her sons or daughters. The inheritance is then transferred to a male heir of the House des Vinandy.

All in-laws, who bring an inheritance in the marriage, will be admitted to the House des Vinandy, insofar as there are no hereditary conditions.

Transfer of possessions, such as land and titles, takes place under the unanimous consent of the tribal chiefs, starting with my three sons.

This division was established by Frederik des Vinandy in the year 1519 at Chateau des Vinandy, in the presence of his three sons, on the basis of Justice and Faith.

The Kingdom is dominated by a wealthy bourgeoisie and nobles, who reinstated the parliamentary constitutional monarchy. The Royal Court rejected the title of ''King of Batavians'' in favour of ''King of Batavia'', with which it rejected certain aesthetic reforms of the so-called ''Burgerkoning'' (''Citizen King''), [[Arkadius III]]. In 1513 AN (February 9, 2006) the '''Free Batavian States''' (Dutch: Free Batavian States) were founded by [[Jodocus van Haltna]]. He came from the [[Refoweb Republic]], or Refobliek, where other Batavians came from. [[Faya Veronique]] was crowned Queen, she was very popular because she listened to the people.

The Free Batavian States disintegrated after several unrest, after which in 1520 AN the '''First Kingdom of Batavia''' arose. The inactive queen was replaced by [[Arkadius Leopold des Vinandy]], better known as [[Arkadius I]]. But the unrest did not stop and the kingdom ended.

In 1523 AN created the '''Republic of Davignon''' (Dutch: Davignonrepubliek), an unofficial name for the state that was a preparation for the revival of the kingdom.

The 16th century of the '''Second Kingdom''' (between 1523 and 1579 AN) has generally been seen as the Golden Era of the Batavian people: the Empire succesfully became a great power and could influence international crises, participated in major political and economical organisations (like the [[Small Commonwealth]]) and waged some successful wars which increased its territory or fame. To the contrary of most nations in that time, the power of the Crown was considerably less than that in nations like [[Shireroth]], [[Natopia]] or [[Babkha]].

The end of the 16th century would see the rise of dissent and divide between the population: the [[Oogstmaand Monarchy]] and Third Kingdom would soon fall under internal military pressure, while its successor nations would often fail to conciliate the whole Empire's territories.

From 1614 AN and onwards most of its territories were little by little divided among other major powers, like [[Jingdao]] (which had been a colony, and later constituent nation of Batavia), [[Stormark]] and Shireroth.

In 1661 AN, the Batavian territories saw an increase in militancy among several groups who advocated a free and independent Batavia (like the [[Free Batavians]]). Those movements, further supported by Batavians who had fled into the eastern territories (which had opened up after the collaps of [[Minarboria]]), became increasingly vocal in local assemblies. States like [[Kasterburg]] and the [[Transbataafsche Vrystaat]] would eventually pressure the Shirerithian and Jingdaoese authorities in re-establishing an independent state.

With the ascension of [[Arkadius IV]] on the Throne in 1669 AN, a final agreement with Shireroth led to the return of Batavian territory in hands of the government at 's Koningenwaarde, while establishing a custom union to strengthen the ties between the Benacian people. The [[Sixth Kingdom of Batavia|Sixth Kingdom]] saw a return to many of the values of the First and Second Kingdom: returning its root to a strong parliamentary tradition, while keeping the King as a strong figurehead, while being able to act in times of need.

There are two mountain ridges in Batavia, the Nysus Mountains in the southwest and the Austrasian Mountains in the center. The mountain ridges are separated by the two largest rivers of Batavia, Linge and Rhijne.

As a result of the turbulent history, the Batavians have spread over Micras. As a result, only 19.11% of all Batavians live in the Kingdom of Batavia. Batavia has used different calendar systems throughout history. The so-called Arkadian Calendar arranged that the year was started on the founding date of Batavia. The Batavian Calendar contained thirteen months and a fourteen day week. Both calendar systems have not had broad support. The New Batavian Calendar has had the most support, namely where the Gregorian month names were replaced by their own names. This calendar is most similar to the current calendar system.

The current calendar system has different names for the weekdays and for the months. The weekdays and the months are linked to the Gregorian calendar. The Norton Calendar is used for the years.
