Siekerians share their origin with [[Gerenians]] in planet [[Meeredres]]. However, whilst some Meeredrean Gerenians began [[Gerenian settlement|settling in Micras]] in 2012, others migrated to Libertas, where they founded the Republic of Siekeria. This new nation developed rapidly, and eventually occupied a continent in Libertas' western hemisphere.

In 2015, the [[Government of Gerenia|Gerenian government]] invited the Siekerians to settle in [[Micras]]. The aim was to allow Gerenia to increase both its territory and its population. Siekerians were promised they would have a great degree of autonomoy in Micras. The negotiations failed due to disagreements between the parties. Nevertheless, they were resumed two years later, and the government of the Republic of Siekeria agreed to send people to Micras. In the first stage, nearly 250,000 Siekerians arrived at Micras. They founded New Siekeria in early 2018.

==History==
The party was officially founded on 30 March 2012 as "The Independent Party" by [[Gerald Ruze]] and other intellectuals such as Clemente Ruiz to compete in the 2012 election on planet Earth.

Upon foundation of the Micrasian Gerenia, the Independent Party became the main political party, with Ruze as President of both the party and the country. The Independent Party has won every parliamentary election in Gerenia's history, as well as most provincial and district elections. This success can be explained by the fact that the party as it attracted many members from the "traditional" parties.

In December 2014, Gerald Ruze, whilst his stay at [[Hamland]] during the [[December Anarchy|Anarchy period]], founded the Independent Party of Hamland. Since then, the Gerenian party is called "Independent Party of Gerenia", to make a distinction between the two parties.

The '''Parliament of Gerenia''' ([[Gerenian language|Gerenian]]: ''Aiŷlat'') is [[Gerenia]]'s [[wikipedia:Bicameralism|bicameral]] legislature. It is composed of a lower house that is called the National Assembly, and an upper house, called the Higher Assembly. The Aiŷlat building is located in [[Nevaya (city)|Nevaya]], [[Gerenian Capital Territory]].

==History==
The Aiŷlat was opened on 2 October 2012, after the first [[Gerenian parliamentary election, 2012|parliamentary election]] in Gerenia. Until mid-2013, when the Aiŷlat Building in Nevaya was finished, the sessions were held at Mount Slietva Palace, south-east of Salnat, [[Klämen]].

The Parliament, dominated by the ruling [[Independent Party of Gerenia]] since its opening, had a very active era between late 2012 and November 2013, when the first signals of a crisis were perceived by the Gerenian people.

When the [[December Anarchy|anarchy of December]] burst in the country, the Parliament was suspended. Most of the members fled to safe places. Once restored the Republic, they returned to their duties. The first meeting of the Aiŷlat after the anarchy was held on 16 January 2014.

==Composition==
The Aiŷlat is a bicameral parliament. According to the [[Constitution of Gerenia]], each of its members must be a Gerenian national of at least twenty-four years of age, and have a law-related degree in a Gerenian university.

The upper house of the Gerenian Parliament is the Higher Assembly (''Snireribes''), which consists of 33 members. The Higher Assembly includes an equal number of representatives from each [[Provinces of Gerenia|province]] (three), regardless of population, and one extra representative from each [[Overseas Gerenia|territory]] (autonomous republic or dependency). Members of the Higher Assembly are called Higher Members.

The lower house, the National Assembly (''Snirenetoles''), consists of 105 "National Members". The country is divided into 25 [[Electoral zones of Gerenia|Electoral Zones]], which are allocated seats based on their population, provided that every Electoral Zone is represented by at least one member.

Members of the National Assembly are elected by direct vote of each of the Electoral Zones. On the contrary, election of the members of the Higher Assembly are determined taking into account the percentage of votes in a whole province.

==Procedure==
Each of the two Houses elect a "Presiding Officer" (''Ilvenki Samezttör''), to oversee debate and enforce rules. The position is rotative in two manners: the officer's term lasts one month (without possibility of re-election), and the position is held by members of all the parties represented in the Assembly. The Presiding Officer must vote on proposals just like the rest of the members in their house.

The Constitution authorises Parliament to set the quorum for each chamber. The quorum of the Higher Assembly is one-quarter of the total membership; that of the National Assembly is one-fifth of the total membership. It is mandatory for members of the Parliament to attend at least two-thirds of the meetings in a year. Failing to do so may result in punishments, such as fines, or suspensions. If a quorum is not present, members of the Parliament may be punished, as well.

In both chambers, whether a motion will be discussed or not is determined by voice vote. The voting system for motions is [[wikipedia:Division of the assembly|division]]: members of a house cast their votes by standing up and raising a hand.

==Broadcasting==
Parliamentary meetings are televised since 2014 on government-owned Channel One. When parliament is not sitting, other news are broadcasted.

The [[President of Gerenia]] is elected for a two-year term by the people. The '''Gerenian parliamentary election of 2018''' was held on 26 August 2018 to elect members of the [[Parliament of Gerenia]].

==Background==
The 2018 election was the fourth parliamentary election. Representatives of [[Gerenian East Keltia]], [[Piraf]], and [[Zylenia]] were elected for the first time.

Before the start of the campaign in July, the [[Independent Party of Gerenia]] experienced a crisis due to the appearance of two factions between the party: the "Originals", and the "[[New Nationalism|New Nationalists]]". The former was represented by the conservative wing of the party, supporters of the ''[[Asakar Méeres]]'' doctrine. In opposition to them, New Nationalists called for concentration of development in [[mainland Gerenia]] rather than in [[Overseas Gerenia]], and a reform of the whole economic system in accordance with the ''Sovereign Money'' (or ''Free money'') doctrine. Eventually [[President of Gerenia|President]] [[Mikkel Anerat]] and the party leader Ims Sanlorä managed to maintain unity of the party in time.

With respect to the other parties, both [[Socialist Party of Gerenia|Socialists]] and [[Popular Party|Populars]] took part in the election as the [[DMEK|Peace and Liberty Front]], like they did [[Gerenian general election, 2017|the year before]]. The same happened with the [[Cemîn Edres|Third Way]] coalition of the [[Nationalist Party (Gerenia)|Nationalist Party]], the [[Reformist Party]], and several minor parties.

The [[President of Gerenia]] is elected for a two-year term by the people. ==Background==
The 2018 election was the fourth parliamentary election. Representatives of [[Gerenian East Keltia]], [[Piraf]], and [[Zylenia]] were elected for the first time.

Before the start of the campaign in July, the [[Independent Party of Gerenia]] experienced a crisis due to the appearance of two factions between the party: the "Originals", and the "[[New Nationalism|New Nationalists]]". The former was represented by the conservative wing of the party, supporters of the ''[[Asakar Méeres]]'' doctrine. In opposition to them, New Nationalists called for concentration of development in [[mainland Gerenia]] rather than in [[Overseas Gerenia]], and a reform of the whole economic system in accordance with the ''Sovereign Money'' (or ''Free money'') doctrine. Eventually [[President of Gerenia|President]] [[Mikkel Anerat]] and the party leader Ims Sanlorä managed to maintain unity of the party in time.

With respect to the other parties, both [[Socialist Party of Gerenia|Socialists]] and [[Popular Party|Populars]] took part in the election as the [[DMEK|Peace and Liberty Front]], like they did [[Gerenian general election, 2017|the year before]]. The same happened with the [[Cemîn Edres|Third Way]] coalition of the [[Nationalist Party (Gerenia)|Nationalist Party]], the [[Reformist Party]], and several minor parties.

Gerze was founded in August 2012 as "[[Red River]] District", after the river that flows through the district. On 15 September of that year, Gerze's boundaries were officially determined, as the district was included in [[Sängeran]], and its name was changed.

Within the district, the [[Gerze (city)|city of Gerze]] soon emerged as a very active port.

During the [[December Anarchy]] of 2013, Gerze remained relatively safe, thanks to the presence in the district (especially in the city of Gerze) of the [[Gerenian Armed Forces]], whose headquarters are located near [[Mariaville]]. However, Gerze was not included in the government's project to retrieve the "[[Lost Lands]]", and thus it continued existing as an unrecognized claim.

Finally, in April 2014, the [[MCS]] decided to recognize Gerenian sovereignty over both Gerze and the [[Tawlkar (district)|Tawlkar District]].

===Creation===
Trans-Samarne was officially created on 14 November 2015, when the [[Government of Gerenia|Gerenian government]] expanded its borders towards the south-east, across [[Camoleo River]] (called ''Samarne'' in Gerenia). The areas claimed by Gerenia had been occupied for at least six months before the creation of the province.

The main reason behind the expansion was the exploitation of the mineral deposits of the region. During 2015, even before the settlement of [[Gerenians]] across the Camoleo started, [[Jan-Gebreel Mesonau]], then Gerenian [[Ministry of Defence (Gerenia)|Minister of Defence]], opined that the new border would need a defensive infrastructure. He studied the topography of the area, and planned the creation of a defensive line, the [[Mesonau Line]]. The borders of Trans-Samarne were drawn following the design of the Mesonau Line, and not in the reverse order.

Mesonau was appointed as Governor of the province when it was founded, but resigned four months later.

In the initial stage of the expansion, which occurred in November 2015, three sectors were formally occupied. The sectors were separated by unclaimed territory. In the second stage, which would not be carried out, the province would expand so all the lands in front of [[Adarma]] and [[Sängeran]] ("Cis-Samarne") were under Gerenian rule. The north-eastern banks of [[Lake Lamantia]] (called ''Kineval'' in Gerenia) would also be occupied.

Nevertheless, on 2 January 2016 the [[Jingdao|Holy Grand Empire of Jingdao]] established the [[Kingdom of Batavia]] in the lands south-east of the Camoleo. By request of the Gerenian [[Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration|Ministry of Foreign Affairs]], the government of Jingdao agreed to negotiate the transfer of Mesonau and Pareve to Gerenia.

Finally, in January 2018 the province was expanded thanks to a negotiation between Jingdao and Gerenia in the context of the peace treaty with the [[Florian Republic]]. Gerenia ceded [[Misnir]] to the [[Empire of Hondon]], and received land from Jingdao next to the province.

==Geography==
Most of the territory of Trans-Samarne is located within the [[Adarman Highlands]], while the nothern end belongs to the Samarne Plateau, and has a hilly relief. The average altitude of the province is 800 m. The highest peaks are located in the Muret Mountains, in the southern section of the province.

The [[Northern Sea]] forms the eastern border. On its shores most of Maremedrean towns are located. The entirety of the province belongs to the Ark Plain. Most of the territory is covered by conifer forests little exploited. The main economic activities are agriculture (cultivation of maize, potatoes, and fishing), and logging.

Mergeazes, located in the east, is the capital and largest city, with a population of about 74,000.

==History==
Maremedres was founded in July 2012 through a [[Subdivisional Charter]]. After a brief mandate of Elie Siman, Eužine Savada was appointed Governor. Savada, although a member of the ruling [[Independent Party of Gerenia|Independent Party]], supported Communism. In 2013, Savada switched party affiliation for that of the recently-founded Communist Party of Maremedres (CPM). The Communist Party won the [[Gerenian general election, 2013#Provincial elections|province election in July 2013]], which meant that Elie Harday would assume as Governor in August. Nevertheless, six days after the election, Savada died from a lung disease, and Konstantîn Vatrîn was appointed as Savada's successor. The Communist leaders began being prosecuted due to their aim for independence; Harday chose to go into exile, and Vatrîn was maintained as Governor despite the general opposition in the province until August, when H. Bastidas assumed office instead of Harday.

With the [[December Anarchy|crisis]] of late 2013 in Gerenia, the provincial government was suspended, Bastidas resigned, and the Communists declared the [[Maremedres Free State]] in 5 December. The Free State was disbanded on the 27th, after a military campaign from the [[Gerenian Army]]. In January 2014, Valentîn Heraiz was confirmed as Governor, and returned to complete his mandate (he had replaced Bastidas, but quickly deposed by the Communists).

In July 2015, a new provincial election was held. Like in the [[Gerenian parliamentary election, 2014|2014 election]], the CPM was banned due to is involvement in the anarchy period, and its leaders showed their support to a coalition of [[Socialist Party of Gerenia|Socialists]] and [[Popular Party|Populars]] named "Orange Maremedres". The Independent Party won the election, however, Orange Maremedres accused the Independent Party of [[wikipedia:Electoral fraud|fraud]]. A series of protests in Mergeazes ended with police repression. During August and September, following the refusal from the government to repeat the election, workers of the main ports and of the industries went on strike. They were joined by other labour unions of the province. Orange Maremedres threatened to declare an independent republic. Finally, in October, the national government accepted to talk with the coalition, with poor results. At the end of the year, the government imposed Jorg Debale as new Governor.

In 2017, the [[Gerenian general election, 2017#Gubernatorial elections|local election]] finally saw winner to the [[DMEK|Peace and Liberty Front]], created by Socialists and Populars.

A settlement (to become Port Isherwood, now [[Port Elerat]]) was rapidly founded on the ruins of Serdste, the capital of the disappeared [[Yabloko|Students' Isocratic Oligarchy of Yabloko]]. The province was founded as "Isherwood".

Since the establishment of Gerenia, the province began a process of industrialization. However, this was limited to the southern region of it, while the north and the east of the province remained little inhabited.

In 2015, the province name was changed to "Erstveda".

==Geography==
Erstveda occupies the entire Panormos Peninsula. In contrast with Port Elerat's urban atmosphere, the vast majority of the state is dominated by forests. The province's rural areas and small towns on the coast of the [[Northern Sea]] contrast shaply with Port Elerat.

The [[Maiŷnat River]] cuts through the south of the province, flowing into Pezara Bay.

The climate is [[wikipedia:Subarctic climate|subarctic]] in the north and west of the province, heavily influenced by the winds coming from the north, and consisting on treeless [[wikipedia:Tundra|tundra]]. ==History==
The first [[Gerenians]] arrived at the region around the mouth of the [[Camoleo River|Camoleo]] in 2014. In November 2015, as part of an expansion of Gerenia along the river (which included the foundation of the [[Trans-Samarne|Trans-Samarne Province]]), East Gerenia was created, with Sávil Ganssal as Governor. The status at the time was that of a [[Region (Gerenia)|region]]. On 1 January 2016, following the disbandment of regions, the status of East Gerenia changed for that of an autonomous republic. Later that year, it was established [[Taras-1 Naval Base]] near Sineda, in the eastern end of the republic.

In February 2017, as part of the [[Hammish Civil War]], the [[NPA]] attacked the [[Ravaillac Loyalists]] in [[Neo Patrova]], on the opposite banks of the Camoleo. The estuary was blocked prior to the invasion of the NPA, and the traffic interrupted. East Gerenia was put in alert. Later, Gerenia and [[Jingdao]] assembled the [[Jingdaoese-Gerenian Northern Mission]] to establish a counter-blockade on Neo Patrovan waters. [[Shireroth]] and [[Natopia]] responded with a counter-blockade on Gerenian waters. Eventually Gerenia withdrew its participation in the Northern Mission, and the blockade was lifted.

Later that year, East Gerenia was incorporated as a [[Provinces of Gerenia|Gerenian province]]. Their representants in the [[Parliament of Gerenia]], as well as their Governor were elected in the [[Gerenian general election, 2017|July 2017 election]]. [[Independent Party of Gerenia|Independent Party]] candidate Sávil Ganssal won the election and took office as Province Governor on 22 July 2017.

East Gerenia belongs to the Camoleo Plains, and is composed of low lands. The highest elevation in the region is Vendel Hill, in Häsfors District (58 m).

Another growing activity is the exploitation of amber deposits, which are abundant in the estuary zone. At first, most of the raw amber was sent to mainland Gerenia; nevertheless, the amber processing is made in small industries in Häsfors.

Taras-1 Naval Base, located in Rițiĵ District, is home of the 10th Division of the [[Gerenian Navy]]. The 10th Division's main tasks are patroling the Camoleo estuary and defend the province from any attack. The local police and a detachment of marine infantry are on charge of the security on land.

==Geography==
Barzat is located in eastern Gerenia. It is bordered by the [[Northern Sea]] to the north and the north-east, [[Ramez]] and [[Maremedres]] to the northwest, [[Sängeran]] to the south, and [[Clements]] to the west.

The capital and most populous city is [[Taizun]], in the northeast.

Barzat is located within the Camoleo Plains, and its territory is mainly covered with conifer forests.

==History==
When the [[Gerenian people]] arrived at the region now belonging to Barzat, they found only a few coastal villages. The villages consisted on a number of shacks spread along the coast of the Northern Sea. As the Gerenians continued exploring the coast, they observed white rocks which they called ''barzat'', its [[Gerenian language|Gerenian]] name. Once established, the new province was named after the white rocks.

Barzat gained province status in August 2012. Its largest city, Taizun, became the provincial capital and received the majority of the government aid, while the rest of the towns remained undeveloped. Nevertheless, since mid-2013, the federal government increased its presence in the zone through the powerful Alvar-Korau-Arnau Clan. The Clan rebuilt a number of towns, and constructed [[Alĵis]] in the west, near [[Ramez (city)|Ramez]].

Following the [[December Anarchy|fall of the Gerenian State]] in November 2013, Alĵis and its surrounding lands declared independence as the [[Republic of Alĵis]]. The seccessionist movement was quickly crushed, however, its territory (and most of Barzat's) has not been officially reclaimed by the Gerenian government after the State was reestablished.

== History ==
Early [[Gerenian pioneer|Gerenian settlers]] reached present-day Adarma through the [[Camoleo River]]. The first towns were built on the banks of the Camoleo, while many people also moved westwards. The whole region was named ''Adarma'', as its hilly terrain reminded the settlers the [[Meeredres|Meeredrian]] region called Adarma.

Adarma became the fourth Gerenian province in August 2012. Later in the year, it was included within [[Sibirel|Sibirel Region]], with [[Tawlkar (city)|Tawlkar]] becoming the seat of government of both administrative divisions.

== Geography ==
The vast majority of the province's area is occupied by the [[Adarman Highlands]]. Gerenia's highest peak, [[Tankberg]], is located in the centre of Adarma.

== Demographics ==
As of June 2017, the province's population was 1,168,323. Roughly half of the population resides in Tawlkar, the provincial capital. Other important urban centres are [[Tániz]] and [[Sper]]. Adarma's fastest growing towns are Näsern and Joslity, both on the banks of the Camoleo.

== Transportation ==
Adarma's primary mode of transportation (in terms of passengers) is its railway system, operated by the [[Gerenian State Railway Company]]. The lines 40, 41 and 42 connect Tawlkar with other major communities in the province and in neighbouring provinces. There is also a growing network of roads which connect smaller settlements. Route 40 is a south-north corridor, which links Sper with Tániz before entering the [[West|Western province]].

Public transportation, intra-city bus services are offered in Tawlkar and Tániz, while a few inter-city services also exist. Such services are jointly operated by the [[Districts of Gerenia|district]] and province governments.

== Origins and etymology ==
Helfrich Island has existed since Series One.

The island received several names, depending on the nations that successively owned it. The Gerenian People began calling the island ''Garlan'', which in [[Gerenian mythology]] is the name of the aspect of the Nature Forces related to the «unreachable». The current denomination results from a settlement of the same name in the southern shore founded by Gerenians who had left mainland [[Apollonia]], but never claimed the island for their nation. The natives, by their part, call the island ''Leeria'' or ''Leerina''.

== Geography ==
Helfrich Island is located in the Northern Sea. It is separated on the south from the mainland Maremedres by the Valera Strait, and on the west from the rest of Apollonia by the Ornada Strait. The island is 25 km long and 10-21 km wide. Its coastline is 72 km, and it is rocky and dangerous, especially in the north and the east.

Most of the island is a lowland area, not exceeding 120 metres in elevation, while there is a central highland forming a plateau that rises to just over 350 m.

The climate of Helfrich Island is maritime [[wikipedia:Subarctic climate|sub-boreal]], tempered by the maritime influence of the [[Northern Sea]] which reduces the temperature differences. The average annual temperature is 3ºC. Snow precipitation is abundant, usually accumulating over 300 centimetres in the central parts.

== History ==
The first settlers came from [[Treesia]], which colonized the island and ruled it for many years. After the collapse of Treesia, Helfrich Island became part of [[Slobovia]], and later [[Novaya Zemlya]] and their respective successor states. Helfrich Island also belonged to the [[The United Empire|United Empire]] and [[Amoria]].

Since the foundation of Gerenia, during several times of its history, there have been many citizens who left the country to inhabit Helfrich Island. However, the Gerenian government never claimed sovereignty over it. Finally, in early 2013, Gerenia declared their intention to annex Helfrich Island, and organized a military expedition.

The [[Conquest of Helfrich Island]] took place in 2013, and although Gerenia could not reach a total military victory, they annexed the island. Today, Helfrich Island is one of the [[Districts of Gerenia]].

===Discovery and early settlement===
Gerenian settlement in Keltia started in January 2016 when Gerenian sailors reached an archipelago south-east of Keltia while seeking for shelter during a storm. They named the archipelago ''Navigator Islands'', and disembarked in Kerpan Island (the biggest one of the group). Once weather cleared up, the sailors continued navigating towards the north, and found a bigger island, which they named "Kalamansi". Since Kalamansi Island was completely uninhabited, the sailors built a few rudimentary houses in the northern shore, with the intention of establishing there. The sailors then claimed Kalamansi and the Navigator Islands as Gerenian territory, and requested protection and support from the [[Government of Gerenia|Gerenian government]]. A Commission (the Keltia Exploration Commission, KEC) was named by the [[President of Gerenia|President]] and the [[Parliament of Gerenia|Parliament]] to analyse the situation and decide whether to found a colony in Keltia or not.

===Creation of the Republic===
The Commission arrived at Kalamansi on 12 March 2016, and stayed for three weeks before returning to Gerenia. The report written by the Commission after the meeting with the sailors was in general terms favourable, although the Commission strongly advised to claim lands in continental Keltia. However, the government gave the nod to the project, and the Gerenian flag was finally raised in Kalamansi on 5 May 2016.

The plans for the creation and organisation of the colony began immediately after the approval of the project. The KEC was reformed into the KSC (Keltian Settlement Commission), and Jan Ánders was designated head of it.

During the following three months, a number of Gerenians arrived at the region, expanding the territory claimed to Sarmat, Lemar and other nearby islands and a small portion of Miste Peninsula, in continental Keltia. Ten settlements were founded, the biggest ones being Darekau (the capital), Arel in Kalamansi Island, and Ándersskad in Ánders Peninsula. On 27 July 2016, the territory was officially named "Gerenian South Keltia", and Ánders was designated Governor. On 15 August Gerenian South Keltia gained the status of autonomous republic within Gerenia.

==Economy==
The main economic activity in Gerenian South Keltia is mining. Two state-run corporations, [[Ferrum SK]] and [[Alukorp]], dominate the extraction of iron and bauxite (aluminium ore), respectively. Recently, it has been discovered deposits of tin in central Sarmat Island and in Lemar, and copper in Ánders Peninsula.

Agriculture is rapidly developing in the region, with the grasslands of northern Sarmat being suitable for cultivating rice. Tea and coffee have also begun being cultivated. As for fruit production, it is concentrated in Kalamansi Island.

On 5 December 2011, Gerald Ruze founded the ''United Gerenian Republic'' as a micronation.
