The founder and reigning monarch is King James Williams I or (Jamzinian given name - James Reginald DeWaldely). ==History of Jamzinia==

===The Beginning===
On 12 August 2005 the micronation of Jamzinia was formed. Founder, James Williams, persued the idea like many after being introduced to micronationalism by famous comedian and King Of Lovely, Danny Wallace on the hit UK TV programme, "How to start your own country".

The nation began late in the evening of 12 August 2005 as a result of James' fustrations of certain aspects of Lovely. By 22:00 Jamzinia had a joinee population of 5 citizens, a Queen, a name, and a basic website. At this point Jamzinia was a very small project for James. As the days passed, leading through to September 2005, Jamzinia's basic joinee population grew, as did the number of ideas and new systems being put in place.

By October 2005, Jamzinia had 40 joinee citizens. It was at this point that King James began to see into the real world of micronationalism - a stage in Jamzinia's life where it was no longer a joke of a nation, but a stage where it was begginning to take issues seriously. New message boards were put in place, and citizens were urged to register. King James I soon realised that Jamzinia was not the relatively large micronation he first thought. He soon noticed that it was the number of active citizens that took priority over the overall population.

===December 2005===

It was in the month of December 2005, that Jamzinia reached the 50 mark in it's joinees. Although at this stage King James I realised that this was no longer important - he did see it as a milestone for Jamzinia. It was also in the month of December 2005 that Jamzinia's first government was formed. - A coalition Government - With Keith Colley as Prime Minister, Andrew Colley, as his assistant, and Jamie Barnes as Prime Government official. These people turned out to be some of the greatest citizens joined, in Jamzinia's history.

===January - March 06===

In the months following the new year, Jamzinia's government became a proper - working government. Including regular meetings, and a monthly agenda to follow. During this time, Manslayronia, a vicious country took it upon themselves to attack Jamzinia by spamming the boards, as a result - many citizens left. During this time, Manslayronia was defeated, and the spammer's IPs noted and banned. A board clean up took place.

===Depression of May===

May saw Jamzinia drift between levels that were previously unheard of, the forums - dead, much of the reasons to do with the previous spamming by Manslayronia. Jamzinia had been left to rot by many citizens. King James I was feeling depressed for his nation, and turned to yet another new government.

===Klemmen Haus (23 May 2006 - 16 October 2006)===
This time, the government was to be a democratic, and well organised government - Klemmen Haus (Jamzinian Congress). Klemmen Haus saw preparations for Jamzinia's first ever elections to be held in July 2006. The message boards went under a huge transformation in June 2006 - that saw many new joinees. Upping the active population to 6.

===The July Elections of 2006===

The first ever General elections in Jamzinia's history were held 15 July (15:00) - 22 July 06 (22:00). All citizens registered as holding Jamzinian citizenship were entitled to vote. The votes were counted and verified on 23 July 06 and the winning party and number of seats each had gained was announced at 12:00 on 24 July 06. The Elections were held in the First Past the Post format (FPP.

====The Aftermath====

In the weeks following the outcome, trouble began arrising. Various complaints were being made about the JTSP and their style of governing. In particular, the high number of pointless posts being made to make them look active. Eventually, John Merrick, the JTSP party leader, left the country. As did Steven Mullock having been found guilty of slander towards Joshua Coales. Who as a result had to pay compensation of JD$500 to the victim.

Seeing as the only party members of the JTSP, had now left, the role of Prime Minister was contraversally passed onto Vilhelm Benkern (PPP Leader).

===Conspiracy===

Following the departure of the JTSP in such an unorthodox manner; the first successful conviction of slander, a conspiracy theory has been in circulation that suggests King James I deliberately enhanced the impact of the remarks against Joshua coales in an attempt to legally rid Jamzinia of the JTSP and their rotten form of rule.

===The Abdication Of King James I===

On the 14th October 2006, King James abdicated his throne. Delivering the following speech -

''"405 Days have now passed since I established Jamzinia, a lot has been done. We have seen good times, and bad times. Good people and bad people. But all has contributed to what we are today, Jamzinia, a nation that has a place for everyone.

''Reluctancy has beaten me on many occassions when considering handing over my monarchy in the past. However experience and a sence of what is morrally right for everyone involved, soon persuaded me that the time for my moving on is right. After such a long time and such a lot of effort, reluctancy is only natural. A few outstanding ambitions still remain unfurfilled, and that is my sole regret. I know that the new King who I am soon to appoint will be the right person for the job. I have trust in the person and know that he will do what he can to continue Jamzinia, and improve it.''

''Not so long ago I found that a couple of people associated with Jamzinia aren't the people they seem. That couple of people have been mis-loyal to me in the past. They seem to believe they knew more than me and that it'd be easy to get around me. I doubt these people would know that I know who they really are, but word gets around, and usually I hear what people have to say about me and their place in Jamzinia. I usually build up a good picture of what people are really like.''

On the 16th October 2006, Keith Colley was announced as King James I's successor. James then assumed the role of Prime Minister on a temporary basis to help form the 4th Klemmen Haus. A role which was only furfilled until 23rd October 2006, at which point, James announced that he was to leave Jamzinia to form Calundy.

===The Coup - 18 November 2006===
On 18th November 2006 a Coup was staged by former King and founder James Williams. The Coup was a success, reverting back to the original forums King James I was restored. Delivering the following speech;

''I appreciate Kieth and his work in Jamzinia a great deal but I have realised I have become disilusioned in what my priorities are. On 28th November 2006, 10 days after the successful coup, King James I declared that he was to leave micronationalism. On 2nd December 2006 the final farewells were said in a service conducted by Tom Carroll. The conclusion of the service also concluded Jamzinia.

===The Resurection - 9 January 2007===

Upon King James I's return to micronationalism Calundy was handed to the Grand Commonwealth after the completion of a treaty signed by King James I of Calundy (at the time) and Behmanesh Farzan. King James I then turned his attention to Jamzinia; he rejoined and set about creating the Jorvik period; what was to be the fifth government of Jamzinia. The government, still in use in the present, consists of a House of the Interior and a House of the Exterior. The Interior houses heads of departments who have been awarded the "Citizen's seal of approval".

'''Jacobus''', (a/k/a Emperor Jacobus, Jacobus Imperator, Jacobus B.S. Kahuneamea, Jacobus Loki), first made his modern [[micronation]]al appearance on December 10th, 1999. His first posts were titled "Jacobus, successor to Norton I". (This was later clarified in that Jacobus saw himself as sucessor to HIH [[Norton I]] in spirit, not as 'Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico".)

Jacobus has been alternately a figure of fun, an arrogant so-and-so, a whipping boy, a freedom fighter and a lightning rod.
His self-declared status as "Emperor of [[Cyberia]]" landed him in hot water from on end of the microworld to the other. At one time he may very well have lead micronationalism (as a whole) in number of countries he had been banished from.

==Recent Citizenships==

Jacobus Loki is currently a citizen of the Imperial Republic of [[Shireroth]], of [[Ashkenatza]], and of [[Nelaga]]. He was a Citizen of [[Dura]] and briefly claimed the crown. He was also briefly President of the revived Virtual Commonwealth of [[Cyberia]].

In December of 2007, all of his posts mysteriously disappeared from the Morovian forum, as well as all posts in the Forum of the Democratic Centre, his Morovian home. He the left the Kingdom of [[Morovia]] where had been Minister of Information.

He resigned from the [[Federal Republic of Cyberia]], in the hopes that his departure might allow the country to explore new opportuntites.

During the civil war in [[Morovia]], declared himself as Interim Regent, in an attempt to save the throne of the rightful King, [[Vincent III]]. When Morovia was reclaimed by Morovians, he recognized their government and withdrew his forces.

== Controversy ==

Gave rise to the term "Jacobist", used as a compliment by his supporters, and as an invective by those disdainful of his satiric style. By Article 5 of the infamous Treaty of Shirekeep, Jacobus explicitly admtted and renounced any claims to Cyberia, Attera or Morovia. He has since abrogated the treaty. The reasons for this include multiple,constant and ongoing alleged violations by citizens of the VCC, including the President and the negotiator. Thus Jacobus' side claim that the VCC negotiated in knowing bad faith.

Jacobus was proud of his collection of [[alter ego]]s, each created for a specific purpose, or to tell a story or make a point. His detractors claim Jacobus creates aliases in order to affect election results and hide his record. He often claimed control over a number of nations in the manner of [[Norton I]], Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico. He has often advocated the overthrow of many tyrannical governments in the manner of George W. Bush, President of the United States of America.

In 2004 Jacobus was put on trial in absentia in the High Court of the [[Solomonic Empire of Attera]], under High Judge Graius for inciting revolution and posting under a false login. As a sovereign, he did not deign to honor the court with his presence. The case raised issues in Atteran law over the trial of foreign nationals, and of ''ex post facto'' applications of the law, along with double jeopardy. The court ruled in favor of ex post facto laws. Jacobus put up no defense, and so was successfully convicted by the court, and sentenced to 90 days exclusion from the Empire. Since he did not go there, the sentence was of no effect.

It was not the first time Jacobus was involved with Attera. Mikel T'zion served a regent of the Jacobus' United Imperium during the Emperor's absence in 2000. He later had a falling out with T'zion over the [[TYSOG]] scandal in [[Tymaria]]. In 2003 he issued Letters of Marque and Reprisal against the Atteran Empire as one of the micronations who defied him by supporting his archrivals, the [[Virtual Commonwealth of Cyberia]]. Jacobus had faded from the active micronational scene on Micras, and the Emperor of Attera was overthrown by his own people. So that feud should be ended.

== Later Career ==

Jacobus was instrumental in compliling the [[Cyberian Memorial]], a listing of Cyberians who were, in his words, "left, were driven out, or just plain couldn't take it anymore."

Emperor Jacobus had accepted the position of [[Imperator Rex Emeritus]] during the renewal [[Lac Glacei]].
He has also found a new way to express himself on Wikis, writing about the history he has made or witnessed. He holds some unpopular opinions, and frequently has to rewrite and defend his contributions from political rivals.

The continued whithering of both Cybewrias cause many to hope for the final end of the conflict between Jacobus and the VCC.

Jacobus was elected President of the [[Federal Republic of Cyberia]] on March 12, 2006, and re-elected twice. He did not seek re-election in the March 2007 elections, and was been succeeded by [[Tim Dunkin]].

Grand Duke Ryan having left Lac Glacei and micronationalism, and finding no one in authority in Lac Glacei or in Cognito, by his authority as Founder and as Emperor Emeritus, Emperor Jacobus on October 17, 2006 resumed personal rule over the territory.

On May 31st, 2007, the former Duchy briefly became a territory of the [[Federal Republic of Cyberia]]. After torrential floods and hurricanes battered Federal Cyberia, the FRC withdrew from all overseas territory. As Duke of Yardistan, Jacobus lead a volunteer force to re-occupy Cognito on behalf of [[Shireroth]]. In in
January of 2008 he was instumental in persuading Shireroth to annex the previous claims of the FRC on Micras.

February 2006 Alexandrian Prime Ministerial elections

The '''February 2006 Alexandrian Prime Ministerial elections''' were the first contest on the position since the ratification of the [[Alexandrian Constitution of 2005]] in November 2005. Voting took place from February 20 to February 23, 2006. The voting was extended for one day due to a extremely low turnout, eding in February 24th.

The [[Alexandrian Constitution of 2005]] specifies that elections for Prime Minister must be "under the supervision of the [[Electoral Commissioner]]". However, there is no specific provisions for how one is appointed and the requirements. His Imperial Majesty [http://alexandriaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=1391 appointed by decree] the President of Treithar as this year's [[Electoral Commissioner]]. Soon after, he resigned due to personal matters, leaving the Emperor as the Electoral Commissioner.

The period for filing candidacy papers ended on February 15th, 2006. Incumbent [[Prime Minister]] [[Matthieu Poitiers]] of the [[Alexandrian Conservative Party]] is running for re-election. His Highness [[Augusto Benavides]], Archduke of [[Asunción]] is running againt Prime Minister Poitiers as an independent candidate.

In the weeks leading up to the closing of the nomination period, many considered [[Jose Frias]] ([[Alexandrian Conservative Party|Conservative]]) and [[Nicholas Bertrand]] ([[People's Democratic Party|PDP]]) as potential candidates for the contest. Neither filed their papers, but have not denied doing so in future elections.

== Results ==
The polls closed on February 23rd with a tie between the candidates. However, the turnout for this round of election was less than 30%. The [[State Electoral Commission]] thus decided to extend the polling for one more day, and [[Prime Minister]] [[Matthieu Poitiers]] was re-elected for an unprecedented second term with 75% of the vote against [[Augusto Benavides]].

The Stratocracy of Treithar (later the Republic of Treithar) was a military dictatorship located on [[Apollonia]] and later [[Keltia]].

== History ==

Treithar started out as an offline attempt to create an interesting new
micronation. After several failed attempts at writing constitutions,
including a medieval english feudal monarchy, it was finally decided
that Treithar should be a military dictatorship. After many different
attempts at designing the governmental system, it was finally decided
that all aspects of government would be controlled by the military. A
constitution was then created and signed in July, with a website and
forum created soon after.

== Politics ==

Treithar is a state completely controlled by the military. Censorship
exists, but is not used frequently, and political power is restricted
to Rank and Time in Service. All major decisions are made by the
General Staff, and the Legislative Command Council (Treithar's
Legislature) is selected at random, although there have been
accusations of rigging. Political parties are nonexistent.
Pro-government Propaganda is seen in the press, and there is something
of a cult of personality around the President-General

Geographical Standards Organisation

The Geographical Standards Organization was a cartography society that maintained the fictional planet of Giess from August 2006 to August 2009. It was the most serious competitor faced by the [[MCS]] and [[Micras]] in their project to unify micronational cartography.

==Prehistory==

During 2006 several factors conspired to make micronationalists increasingly dissatisfied with Micras.

First, Chief Cartographer [[Ryan Caruso]] pursued an aggressive policy of freeing up land for new nations to use that seriously restricted the ability of old nations to expand and sometimes even took land away from them. There were some attempts to define the amount of land to which a country was entitled mathematically via an equation taking into account post count and activity, an attempt which quickly ran afoul of countries who wanted more land than the equation allotted them. Most important was the [[Atkins Reduction]], in which each country was asked to give up a small amount of land; many countries felt their core territories were being taken away from them in the name of preserving land for hypothetical future empires.

Second, John Darcy led a group (actually mainly just John Darcy, but he was very loud) of people pushing for higher simulation standards. The entire MCS Map had mostly been made up on the fly, and Darcy wanted tectonically accurate landforms and rivers, full-blown climate simulations, and constructed anthropology and ecology. This was opposed by many other Micras members, who wanted to leave the planet deliberately vague so that future micronations could claim land and mold it in their own image without being told every detail of what their fictional geography had to be like.

Third, several countries wanted to switch to a complicated simulationist "game" in which they assigned themselves resources, GDPs, et cetera and used them to produce things like industrial infrastructure and military units according to mathematical rules. This became not only a practical difference but also a philosophical rallying cry: these countries believed they were superior and "more serious" than countries that were "only about storytelling", and touted themselves as "simulationist" micronations as opposed to the others' "fantasy". They began discussing a world solely for simulationists, separate from the fantasists who were holding them back.

==Foundation of Giess==

After long talks behind closed doors, in August 2006 Behmanesh Farzan and John Darcy announced the foundation of the Geographical Standards Organization, or GSO. The full list of founding members has been lost, but it included at least [[Anthelia]], [[Babkha]], [[Baracao]], [[Gotzborg]], and [[Alexandria]].

The organization was to differentiate itself from the MCS on a few lines. First, it would be admitting only the higher-tier, "simulationist" class of micronations. Second, it would explicitly try to create a strong simulation that tied together all its members. Third, it would use a map generated by AutoRealm, which would look better than the MCS's MSPaint style maps and be continuously updated directly off the AutoRealm file.

The reaction from the MCS ranged from dismay to anger; dismay because the cartography society had long acted as a unified force for the Sector and was now becoming a divisive force instead; anger because of the clandestine way in which the negotiations had taken place, with the existence of a discontent faction not even revealed until the final announcement. A leak of some of the classified negotiations revealed that the GSO founders were saying relatively mean things about most MCS nations behind their backs, adding to the anger. Among the most unhappy was Natopia, member of the Novasolum Confederation - the entire Confederation had been invited to the negotiations except for themselves, on the grounds that they weren't serious enough and might tell other countries.

Ryan, Chief Cartographer of the MCS, resigned in a rage and tried to close down the MCS; it was saved only when a group of participants led by V.C. Vehendi cancelled the closure and recreated it in their own image, starting the modern MCS structure led by a Council.

==Golden Age==

At its height, the GSO included at least the countries of [[Anthelia]], [[Babkha]], [[Baracao]], [[Gotzborg]], [[Alexandria]], [[Antica]], [[Paulovia]], [[Stormark]], [[Hurmu]], [[The United Baronies]], [[Treithar]], [[Karnali]], [[Interland]], [[Zindaria]], and [[Oscland]], although many of these also maintained land on the MCS. Throughout 2007, the two organizations were about equal in size, and maintained an unfriendly rivalry.

The GSO started off on [[Iain de Vembria]]'s [[micronations.net]] forum. When this closed, it switched to a spot on Will Tomsett's [[MicroHub]] forum. At no point did it ever have its own board; although it had its own website, at www.geostandards.org, no copy currently exists.

The GSO's map, Giess, consisted of four main continents: Novgard, Iotnargard, Grandica, and Novasolum. Grandica was self-consciously created in the image of the [[Grand Commonwealth]], one of the great powers of the day, and hosted many of the GC nations. Novasolum was named after the Micras continent of [[Novasolum]], and included Darcy's empire of Anthelia. Novgard, isolated in the west, hosted both Babkha and Stormark. Iotnargard was a "wild" continent, and there were a few RPs about people sending explorers to open up and colonize it.

The focus of the GSO's territory policy was in exploration and colonization. Instead of submitting claims based on activity, like at the MCS, nations claimed GSO territory by posting role-plays in which they simulated exploring an area and starting a colony.

Most activity upon Giess was this sort of colonizing and claiming, with the occasional recwar. The Grand Commonwealth constructed an interdimensional portal, the [[Hurmu Gate]], which allowed travel between Micras and Giess; this was intended to unify the economies and strategic picture of the two worlds, but it never really caught on.

==The Decline of Giess==

Several factors contributed to Giess' decline and eventual destruction in 2008 through 2009.

First, the choice to use AutoRealm for updates became more and more questionable as the people with the AutoRealm file either never showed up or refused to let other people use it. Because only .pngs of the map were released to the public and the original AutoRealm was kept as a "trade secret", only a few "head honchos" of the organization could actually update the map, and these people were often chronically inactive. John Darcy himself suffered from increasing business and personal commitments during this period and was unable to update consistently. The MCS loved poking fun at the relative update schedules of the two organizations (MCS several times per week, GSO once every few months).

Second, the promised unified simulation never arrived. This was mainly because of Darcy's frequent absences, but also because making a simulation and getting lots of countries to agree to it is really hard, and the GSO had not fully appreciated this beforehand.

Third, in a major stroke of luck, most of the new nations of the "Lovely Sector", the major influx of micronations that occurred with Danny Wallace's TV program "How To Start Your Own Country", chose the MCS rather than the GSO. This centered more and more activity around the MCS, while the GSO was becoming less and less active due to infrequent updates and the lack of a coherent simulation strategy.

Finally, in a move worthy of the Counter-Reformation, the MCS took great strides in addressing the issues that made the GSO seem attractive in the first place. The "dictatorial" Chief Cartographer position was replaced by a council of five people plus a less despotic Administrator-General. The organization ratified a constitution that contained clauses for removing MCS officials if necessary. The departure of many large nations to the GSO freed up huge swathes of land, ironically solving one of the problems that had made them leave in the first place. And the creation of new "special maps" made the graphics less of an issue.

In August 2009, the GSO closed for good, with most GSO nations returning to Micras.

== Origins ==
Behmanesh entered micronations after stumbling on micronations.org after feeling dissatisfied with Nationstates.net and wishing to have a more immersive experience. With a few friends he created the unsuccessful Republic of Verelexia.
== Attera ==
Later on, looking for a micronation to join, FarzAn looked on MNO for an english-speaking micronation that was a simulation with a hybrid system of government. He found the Solomonic Empire of Attera as one of the first results, and since militarism appealed to him he immigrated. FarzAn started as Minister of Defence and High Judge, creating a doctrine, curtailing the use of forum-busting weapons. He later resigned his post as minister of defence, citing that it conflicted with his role of High Judge.

His role as High Judge was put to the test when he presided over the trial of Emperor Jacobus for inciting rebellion under the login "[[Tomaz Painn]]". His point-by-point counterattack of the original post earnedhim the noble title of Ras and the Collar of the Black Star of Attera, Class III. The trial of Jacobus helped to highlight several flaws in Atteran Law, for example the lack of protection against double jeopardy and ''ex post facto'' applications of the law.

FarzAn later won a seat in Attera's Legislature, the Yezawd Derg, as a
representative for Attera Proper-Major. At that time he also became
Minister of State, which deals with both internal and foreign affairs.
After a brief stint in the job in Janurary 2005 (which he lost due to
inactivity on his part) he became the director of the Atteran Cultural Directorate.

Behmanesh has also been a member of Attera's secret services the
[[Crimson Order]] and the [[Shagadaan]]. During the time of the
[[People's Brittannic Federation]], Farzan managed to infiltrate the
nation under an alias and helped to bring about the "Bible Revolution" overthrowing the socialist government.

A while later, in protest over what he perceived as an abuse of
imperial power, he resigned all positions and moved to the Royal
Kingdom of Gotzborg.

== Gotzborg ==
At the time of his resignations in Attera, FarzAn immigrated to the Royal Kingdom of Gotzborg , joining their (largely ceremonial) army, and getting a job as Deputy-Vice Minister of State for the Home Office with the portfolio of (DVMS) Culture. After a while in that job he resigned to become the Minister of Economic Affairs, where he has been instrumental in implementing a functioning economy in the Kingdom. He is also been a member of the Royal Criminal Police, as the head of the Investigations department, holding the Rank of Deputy Commissioner. In the Army his rank is Lieutenant-Colonel, as colonel-in-chief of the 2ndRegiment, Royal Guard Cavalry (Life Guard Cuirassiers).

== Other Achievements ==
Behmanesh used to write the Micronational Eye, a very-much-less-than-serious
tabloid, and has managed to attract public attention to the hobby of
micronationalism by talking to Danny Wallace on live TV and getting him to agree to sign a treaty of mutual recognition between his country and[[Attera]], [[Treithar]], [[Antica]], [[Shireroth]], [[Stormark]],[[Natopia]], [[Riponia]] and [[Anthelia]]. This treaty was signed live on "Citizen TV" on the 17th August 2005.
He also worked part-time as a newsreader and commentator for [[KZFO]].
On 22nd August 2005, FarzAn was awarded the [[Order of the Griffin]] for managing to gain publicity for the anglophone sector on the BBC.
