Legal framework
The military doctrine of BYSF is defined by law and is based on the principle of military neutrality, while also regulating the actions of the armed forces, the government and its institutions, as well as general population and the economy as a whole in the event of an invasion or violation of the sovereignty of Brezovo and Yavorina.
Although the forces maintain a position of military neutrality, they may act if it is determined by Voivodat that a military threat could be neutralized or deeply mitigated through armed intervention prior to an initial attack or invasion against the sovereignty of Brezovo and Yavorina.
In peace-time, members of the Naval Security Forces hold the greatest authority out of all branches, as their powers enable them to protect vessels under national interests not only within the country's territorial waters, but also the international waters.
The Ground Security Forces and Air Security Forces may operate outside the territory of Brezovo and Yavorina if exceptionally engaged in operations conducted by the Naval Security Forces, or in the event of territorial expansion of the state’s sovereignty into internationally recognized "Green" territories.
- ^ Under Brezovo-Yavorina law, all men and women holding citizenship with past military or law enforcement service are part of the passive reserve. As of 1753, BYSF maintains a contigent of 3,000 active reserve forces, who serve at least 30 days a year.
