Four of the New Brittanian battleships have set off from Greater Ponton and are making their way out to sea. The crew are in high spirits eager to fight for New Brittanias dominance of the waves, all crew are ready at battle stations with all guns and missiles loaded and ready. The ships are sailing south east before they turn to approach the warring islands from the west which is expected to take eight hours.

The last New Brittanian battleship with 200 infantry aboard is sailing north from Melton heading towards the delta of the river on which USSC lies where they are to approach the islands which lie there. The rest of the New Brittanian military is also at the ready to be deployed.

Pfft... newbies.
The golf ball rolled along the green, curving slightly to the right. It hesitated momentarily before finally falling into the hole.

“Par” Foghorn announced.

It was a brilliantly sunny day in New Brannum, and perfect golf weather as well. The course looked lovely in the mid-morning dew.

In the distance, a low humming noise was barely audible. Foghorn attributed it to someone mowing the grass on a nearby hole, and continued lining up his next shot. But a few seconds later, a helicopter was plainly visible on the horizon, speeding towards the group. Foghorn straightened up and started walking out towards the middle of the field. The helicopter landed with a soft thud right in front of him.

As the door of the helicopter slid open, the happy carefree day turned sour. Sitting in the passenger seat was Chris, in full uniform, the red piping on the coat distinctly polished for the occasion. There could be no other explanation for Chris' sudden arrival, and his attire: the Republic was going to war.

Chris stepped out of the helicopter and walked down the course. Foghorn dropped his driver and jogged towards him. “Who and where?” he asked.

“Taylor Bay. Kampong, Nova England, and New Brittania.”

Foghorn looked puzzled. “Where?”

Chris smiled. “Exactly. Hop in.”

Foghorn waved to the other golfers and jumped in. The helicopter spun up and started making its way down the coast.

New Brannum was originally established as a military outpost for the Dinarchy of Antica during the Red Antillean campaign. Foghorn, in a stroke of genius, established a strong toe-hold on a strip of unclaimed land and prevented the invasion of Babkha by the Red Antilles. The Naval Infantry had built a formidable fortress on the southern beach a few years back, and despite the Red Antillean's best efforts, the fortress still stood.

The helicopter skirted the coast until it came to the fortress, then landed squarely on the helipad. Foghorn and Chris stepped out, Foghorn still dressed in his golf outfit. Realizing this, Foghorn told Chris that he'd “be in the briefing room in a minute”. He ducked into his office for a quick change.

Foghorn flipped on the light switch. He walked towards an obscure cabinet in the corner of the room and opened the top drawer. One by one, he pulled out the pieces of his old uniform. His jacket, the same blue jacket from the Dinarchy, but with the old flag ripped off and a new Republican patch sewn on. The sleeves and back of the jacket had been repaired perhaps one time too many.

He pulled out the second drawer and produced a canvas-wrapped sword. He pulled it out of the scabbard and inspected the blade, remembering all the battles he'd won with it by his side.

Off to one side of the office, a rack was built into the wall. Standing in the stalls were three weapons. The first was an old-world Springfield 1903 rifle. Foghorn fingered the action as he passed it, smiling. Miska, Terre D'Riches, it had seen it all. Next in line was a Mosin-Nagant. That rifle had seen action in the latest of the Shirerithian wars, fighting Babkhans as well as dragons. Last in line, and most recently added, was an XM8 sharpshooter variant. The latest in a long line of deadly weapons, the XM8 was not only deadly accurate, but also lightweight and had a larger magazine capacity than any other previous Naval Infantry weapons.

Foghorn grabbed the XM8 and walked down the hall towards the briefing room. When he entered, Chris had already set up the maps.

“So here's the deal. There's a war here” he gestured to a few islands “and we need to keep them from taking over the islands. So, to keep the islands out of their control, we're going to invade and take control instead.”

Foghorn stared at the maps for a few seconds, and then smiled. “Yes, sir. I'll order all my troops to rendezvous at Terra Certa, and we'll continue from there. I'd ask you to also bring your navy to the rally point, but if you have something better to do, be my guest.”

Foghorn smiled, nodded to Chris, and walked out of the room.

SUMMARY: Naval Infantry en route to Terra Certa island, navy possibly to join in.
Sorry, the island apparently changed names on me.

I just wanted to ask weither I can have a small extension for the 24 hour rule as from 11am GMT I will be at my mums till Sunday 6-7pm GMT. If this could be done I would be very grateful.
Hempton Bay was starting to get colder as winter approched vast rain storms hit constantly making life difficult in some areas. But the people and soldiers of the Islands had been living like this for a long time and had gotten pretty much used to it.

In his heated office Commander Bamforth read over his intel papers 'Hmm they want to capture sea, I think we should see if the SOE's Sea Emp mines really do work.' His brief spell of talking to himself ended when a loud knock at the door was heard. 'Come in!' Ordered Bamforth

'Orders from the King sir, we have full permission to fire at will' replied the Young clerk whom saluted and dashed out as suddenly as he had entered. Bamforth thought to himself for a few minutes before opening up his second draw and pulling out a fresh Pack of East Moorland Extra Strong to calm his mind. He knew thet the enemy's only good chance to land on the main Island was to travel up the opening to Hempton Bay because of the vast cliff beaches which made landing almost impossable.

Meanwhile in the Northern part of the same Island

3rd Platoon, 6th Company, 1st Mechinised Legionaires.

The 30 man group had been having a hard time the last few days patroling in the forested regions of the Island looking out for enemy camps. But finaly base had given them a chance to rest and take a part in manning the Northern defences now that the New Brittanians were coming down. Small bunkers had been erected where ever possable in important places. While small civilian ships towed the Sea EMP mines* out to sea, the troops here weren't going to go with out a fight. A lot of the base had been made mobile so that positions were changed constantly so that enemy intel could pinpoint where they needed to bomb before the base 'reshifted'. Three large artilary guns towed on the backs of large trucks Prepared them selfs.

Also back down in the Sourthernest part of the Island- Near the Bridge

Sargant Cole had been in the army since he was 18 and had served his country in the Circum Raynor war where he had been premoted shortly after. He had now been sent of an important mission to capture the 'Battered Bridge'. It had once been a magnificent thing before a carbomb exploded across it 4 weeks ago. Although still useable it had lost much of the wonderful architechture that had once filled it.

+This is God's will 1 reporting to God's will 2 do you read me over?+

++We read you loud and clear, prepare for fire from the heavens. Over++

+Roger that commencing Operation Dam+

A few seconds after that brief radio talk 'God's will 2 fired morters towards the other side of the bridge while commandos poured out of two L-30 APCs quickly begain to storm the bridge.

*EMP Sea Mine- Basicly a large Electromagnetic bomb encased in a typical Sea mine which can be detonated to release a large electromagnetic pluse capable of frying pretty much any electrical component. Thus capable of rendering a modern ship useless in cases. (Much of the technolagy for it was stolen in the capture of Maxigrad in the Circum Raynor war.

Summary: EMP sea mines have been set up on the Northern parts of the Island while the only big port in the Northern part has set up a 'mobile' base. Commandos and two APCs have stormed the Southern most bridge (The small brown line on the map) while three morters fire at the oppisite side of the Bridge.

By the shores of Greater Eura, eight Matbaic ships prepared for war, accompanied by two squadrons of Fighter Jets soaring overhead. On the deck of the vast ZMNS Azozyel, beneath the Matbaic Naval Pennant, Admiral Yohannan Havar Pasha studied the maps of Eastern Micras copiously. The nations were of a different culture there, he read, and many had nothing to do with the Zatriarchate. These were dangerous waters, and once the flotilla had left the welcoming territory of the Confederacy, there would be no turning back. But just one thing puzzled the admiral and his crew: who, exactly, were they fighting? Sure, they were all Nukhroyo D'Darywo (foreign devils), but just which foreign devils were there to kill? Nothing had been heard from high command, except that they were to head for Taylor Bay at once. The flotilla had passed many foreign vessels but not one was millitary, nor carrying anything illegal or compromising to Matbaa's war effort.
No, it was very puzzling. The admiral scratched his head.
Just then, the phone rang. It was Dbeth Thumno Pasha, leader of the Matbaic Zatriarchal Military.
Hello, Havar Pasha here
Ah, Havar Effendi, good to speak with you. I phone merely to tell you the orders from the Khanaushia. You know the NAM meeting in the capital?
Yes?
They've ratified their final decision
Which is?
To remain a neutral force
The admiral's heart sunk. He had hoped for a little action to test the pride of the Matbaic Navy, if that was indeed possible
Dbeth Thumno came back on
I mean, neutral neutral, if you see what I mean
A smile played across the admiral's lips. This would be fun indeed.

It was snowing. Unsurprising really, when you consider Beaugium's polar position. Thats why Harrpo had little holes in his deck, so that when the yacht was in the sun, the snow would melt and drip through the deck. Ingenius really.
The phone rang, and so Harpo clambered out of his sun lounger, and wen tinto the main cabin to answer it. The call had also awoken the yacht's only other occupant, Wombat, both of whom were waiting for the call.
'Leaves' said the caller, and the line went dead.
Wombat looked at Harpo, puzzled, but Harpo knew exactly what it meant. Leaves = Green. The war is go.
Wombat returned to the liferaft, and prepared some tea, whilst Harpo went in to the cabin and set a course change.

'Lets go watch the shenanigins unfold!' Harpo cried, as, with a wide grin on his face, he wandered to the laptop.

Departure from Nafticon

The cabin of the RNT Mercredi was fairly Spartan—it contained nothing but a dresser, a long, narrow bed, and a shaving basin with a ewer of water (its occupant had been forced to supply his own razor and soap.)
Braden Indianensis, provincial governor of Kentuckiana—and now, Commandant of the Home Guard—was allotted this ship by special decree of the Assembly. The vessel was typical of ships left over from the Antican Imperial Navy: barely large enough to transport 960-something soldiers, a few howitzers and other gunnery, and supplies. How it performed its duty to transport an entire division in its heyday was something Braden couldn't figure out.

Braden paced over to the dresser, and began to put away the spare uniforms he’d brought along (they were of varying degrees of formality). He made sure, as well, that he hadn't forgotten his trusty little derringer (snug inside his waistcoat pocket), his Colt King Cobra revolver (in a holster on his belt), and the much-less-inconspicuous SIG 550 assault rifle (leaned over in the corner of the room.) When this was done, he took from his bag a few things to remind him of home, and set them atop the dresser: a small, black-and-white photo of the members of the Provincial Assembly, and a little copy of the Articles of the Republic.

He sat down on the bed, and began to think of all that had happened in the last week. It had started back in Lexipolis. Kentuckiana had grown recently, and its General Assembly now contained fifty representatives. Braden recalled standing in front of them, and temporarily relinquishing gubernatorial powers to his Lieutenant-Governor, Ruth. After that, he’d left for the Barrack of the Home Guard, a few miles from Lexipolis, where most of the soldiers had already assembled. Braden had addressed them briefly; then departed with his men. They went in a swift convoy over the excellent highways of the Republic, eventually arriving at the capital, Nafticon.

There was a knock at the door. “Enter,” Braden said. The door opened, and Lieutenant Evangeline Munier—a tall, thin Francophone woman whose grandparents had immigrated from Alexandria to Antica about sixty years prior—stood on the threshold.

“Commandant,” she announced in her songlike, yet commanding accent, “all hands are present, all equipment stored, and the Navy is prepared to escort us to the field.”

“Excellent,” replied Braden. “Full speed ahead, then!” Lt. Munier saluted, turned on her heel, and closed the door behind. In a few minutes, the ship lurched, and then began to slowly move forward.
Summary: The Kentuckiana Home Guard is departing for the war, and is to be escorted by a unit of the Republican Navy.

Character: NB Air vice Marshall

Ten New Brittanian Eurofighters have taken off from the small island south of Great Ponton and are making their way towards the warring islands. Once there they are to fly at high altitude around the coastal areas of the most eastern island attacking any ground targets or enemy aircraft (they are to avoid heavily AA guarded positions.)

They are also to provide air cover for the New Brittanian fleet in the area

The New Brittanian fleet reached its intended position 45 miles off the east
coast of the most easternly island where they stopped with the edge of the
island barely visible over the horizon. The sea was slightly rough but calm
enough for the plan to go ahead. The four battleships lined up with the smaller ships behind them and turned their guns and surface to surface missiles towards the coast and waited for the word.

Admiral Young looked from the window of the bridge and admired the assembled sea power that lay around him, he looked for several minutes before he was brought back to reality by a Corpral tapping him on the shoulder and saying "Your orders Admiral?" to which he replied "Orders?...ah yes the orders...FIRE!"

This message was shouted by the corpral over the intercom so that it echoed from all of the ships speakers and out accross the sea. With that followed a chain of loud booms, flashes of light and the sound of hundreds of missiles and shells streaking off towards the land.

Hitting anything in particular was as expected impossible at this range, but
as the planners pointed out: "An island is easier to hit from 45 miles away than a ship." This meant that the fire from the ships landed at random all over the coast of the island causing large clouds of dust and smoke to rise high into the air. The ships were safe from most ground fire at this range so they continued to pound the island non-stop.

AA missiles and other defencive weapons were also at the ready, they would be employed to counter any threat to the ships.

Meanwhile north of Melton the HNBMS Melton had arrived off the coast of the main group of islands in the river delta, once there the assembled marines were loaded into tactical assault boats which were soon speeding towards the uninhabited islands. Once they had landed in the main group of islands some troops were to continue up river in the boats to reach the remaining island.

Summary: New Brittanian ships pounding the east coast of the most easternly island. New Brittanian troops to be dropped off on islands in river delta north of Melton.

Lord Montague, or Charles deMontford as he was known in some parts of the Micronational world, sat silently on the bridge of HMLS Montague listening to the ELINT of the war so far. HMLS Montague was a Province Class Battleship, loosely based around the unfinished British Lion Class from the Second World War. Named after the city in the South of Lovely, which was in turn named after a pub in London, she effortlessly broke the waves on her bow and kept steaming northwards.

Montague was a man hated by his enemies. His real name, Charles deMontford, was spoken with complete distaste in Alexandria. In Lovely itself, the former PM had no time for him and neither did the rebels he had fought there. However, there was a crowd who admired him. He had his allies in places everywhere in the globe. He was easily one of the most capable commanders for any micronation and perfectly complemented the rest of the DCHQ staff so create an almost unbeatable team. He was a dying breed though. The longest serving protector of Lovely, he had seen two of his J-DIC's rise and fall and now served in their successor, DCHQ as the First Lord of the Admiralty. A battleship man, he believed that a big gun could do more than any little plane could do.

"Captain Dukesborough, what is the status of the Squadron?" asked Montague, resting his chin on his hand.

"The Squadron is battle ready, sir." replied Dukesborough coming to stand by his First Lord. Dukesborough reminded Montague of himself in his younger days. He was 40 years old with a mane of jet black hair. Montague had once been so dashing before he finally began to age. There was no longer jet black hair adorning Montague's head. It was now a shocking white.

"Sea conditions in the Battlezone?" asked Montague.

"Incredibly calm, sir. Weather reports state that there are no incoming storms for at least the next week. Sir, we're recieving reports that the New Brittanians under the command of Admiral Young are beginning landing operations on the disputed isles."

"Young? Good man. He'll do our allies proud." confirmed Montague. Montague had served as an Admiral during the Circum Raynor War with New Brittannia. During that part of the conflict is where he earned his plaudits and credentials for being such a good naval commander. He had managed to destroy a GC Carrier Group with no air support at all, whilst under fire from Stomarkian Air Force Squadrons. He then managed to attack an Alexandrian Battlefleet whilst damaged and with losses and live to tell the tale. Despite such great achievements, it had scarred him deeply to be involved in such relentless warfare. He didn't let the scars show though.

"Shall we set sail for the warzone, sir?" asked Dukesborough.

"What does our intelligence have to say on such matters?" asked Montague to Leftenant Patterson, the squadron's intelligence officer.

"None of their navies are at sea yet." replied Leftenant Patterson.

"Pity. I hope they come out to play. Set a course in the general direction of Kampong. Scare the bastards a bit." ordered Montague. He picked up the radio microphone on his chair and set the frequency for Vice Admiral Harper's 2nd Battleship Squadron.

"Vice Admiral, commence sailing to your destination immediately. Over and out." was the simple message from Montague. He smiled gently knowing that a master plan had been set into action.

"Dukesborough, put Radio Lovely 2 on. Its classical hour at the moment." asked Montague.

"Aye, sir. I'll relay it to all speakers as well sir." confirmed Dukesborough. Radio Lovely 2 came on air with one of its DJs, Zsu Zsu he thought, introducing the next song.

"Did you hear that Lady Heather was going on to be here, apparently Dukesborough?" asked Montague.

"No, sir, I didn't. Such a lovely person, sir, isn't she?" said Dukesborough with a laugh.

"Indeed, lad, indeed." laughed Montague.

As the ship steamed off to its destination, Radio Lovely 2 boomed out across its loud speakers. Ironically, this week's classical tune was "Mars - The Bringer of War"

Summary
1st Battleship Squadron making to steam off Kampongese coast.
2nd Battleship Squadron steaming north from the Collins Islands.

Emperor Nathan rolled out of bed drearily and looked at the wall calender, and groaned. "I don't have time for this anymore... I don't want to go to war today," he pouted. He stumbled over to his desk terminal and called the Deputy Minister of Defense. When the terminal screened was filled with the clean and fresh face of the newly appointed officer, Nathan merely said "Find someone to take that fleet to Taylor Bay," and clicked off the screen without confirmation from Deputy Hawkins.

Across town, Deputy Hawkins was now staring at a blank screen. "Where the hell am I gonna get a veteran naval fleet commander? His Majesty has been the commanding officer for all wars!" He opened the navy roster and searched all the fleet admirals, "If we had only sent an army battalion, I'd just appoint myself as general. Oh well." After a half hour, Deputy Minister Hawkins found a suitable fleet admiral.

Later in the day, Rear Admiral Benden got off the heli-pad in Rostock Naval Base. "Finally, I have my own fleet capable of substantial impact! No more coastal defense routes for me." He boarded his command and Expeditionary Fleet Flagship, the Thomas Jefferson, one of the most distinguished and oldest ships of the fleet. She wasn't one of the newer Natopia-class behemoths but she was still formidable. After a the traditional taking-of-command ceremonies, the fleet disembarked from Rostock to the Taylor Bay Islands, to rendezvous with the NAM forces there to stabilize the islands in the names of international peacekeeping.

The 2nd group of New Brittanian ships shoot (in this sense I mean "speed" or "hurry") across the water in the wake of Admiral Young's Battleships. As soon as they saw that aforementioned battleships were giving it all they had against the Easternmost island, the seamen jumped out of their bunks, disposed of pornographic images and proceeded to join in the barrage. Vice Admiral R Vam Redpants remarked, "Today is a good day for shooting blindy at dirt."

Summary: The boats that had been tailing Young's battleships join in the barrage of the Easternmost island.

30 aircraft, from the TRNF stationed around Nova England report back to home base in Tokidoki. Our forces travel in an arc over the Frost Line (or what ever it's called) and refuel in Zumhaven. The rest of the trip is uneventful.

Shogun Tora entered the on board officers mess and sat down, knocking a cigartette out of the hand of a young Staff-Sargent's hand before, with the force to knock him from his seat had he not been so large, slapping him in the face.

"No Smoking." Growled the elderly CO.

Tora looked into the reflective surface of the table before muttering into the uneasy silence that had dominated the room since his explosive arrival.

"We are to cease all offencive manovers and not to attack unless provoked."

"What kind of shit is this?" howled one of the Generals. Tora did not see who as he soon realised his mistake.

"The order comes from the almighty. There shall be no objections. Oh and General? My Quarters. NOW!"

"Lord Montague, our intelligence asset in St. John's just sent the IASA a message. Tokidoki fleet movement is being carried out by a Duke Greyhammer. A carrier and three destroyers, sir." reported Leftenant Patterson to Captain Dukesborough and Lord Montague.

"Goodo. Bring fleet to battlestations. Launch 5 cruise missiles at each of those ships. Have the radar begin scanning for air threats and sonar for submarine threats." ordered Montague calmly.

"Aye, sir." responded Captain Dukesborough.

Summary
HMLS Montague fires 5 cruise missiles at Superhawk
HMLS Horton fires 5 cruise missiles at Fist
HMLS Lion fires 5 cruise missiles at Punch
HMLS Opal fires 5cruise missiles at Cutter

N.B These missiles have been launched at an extremely long range and are programmed for sea skimming (sticking close to sea surface). They will be very hard to detect and destroy.

HNBMS Rose and her escort destroyers have set sail from Greater Ponton heading south east, they are then to turn west and halt 20 miles further out to sea than the other New Brittanian fleets. The fighters are then to provide air defence for all New Brittanian ships in the area. The carrier and escorts will continue to assist the New Brittanian fleet (including following their movements) untill further notice.!

All of my troops are sailing to Rillanon.

My Special Forces have taken their plane to Rillanon.
"Return to Rillanon immediately." The rough voice that came out of the radio transmitter sounded slightly panicked.

"Yes sir," replied Commander Holn into the radio. Then he turned to his 17,000 troops. "Men, we're going home."

They quickly boarded the boat and set sail for their homeland.

Minutes later, Captain Charr recieved a similar radio message. He and his 100 elite soldiers boarded their stealth jet and took off hastily.

So by this stage we have established that the ignoble, cowardly and worryingly undead Ardashir has managed to worm his way into the High Command of the Brittanian Armed Forces where he attained command of half King Jeremy’s Army by killing the other half. Unfortunately for our hero his decision to take the oath of allegiance to King Jeremy backfired somewhat when the King issued him an order and expected him to follow it.

Fortunately, in the overall scheme of the conflict now brewing on Micras is was to be one of the better assignments. Overall command of the HNBMS Melton and the marine taskforce of 200 men supervising an occupation of the uninhabited islands of the Karnali river delta.

‘The Karnalians. They used to make great ice cream you know.’ Ardashir said, to no one in particular as he stared out from the bridge watching the tactical assault boats speed off towards their allotted islands.
‘Did they really Sir?’ replied a bored Petty Officer who divided his time between the battleship’s radar monitor and a crumpled copy of the ‘Jane’ cartoon strip.
‘You know they probably still do on Giess’.
The Petty Officer looked up from the screen, slightly worried now.
‘Please Sir, you know you’re not supposed to talk about that…’
‘Yes, you are right of course.’

Ardashir scanned the horizon once more, watching the white foam trail of each of the assault boats snake towards their allotted islands like torpedoes homing on the hull of some monstrous vessel. As he did so he remembered his conversation with the King that took place before his departure. ‘Reinforcements are available if you feel that there is a danger the stinging nettles might overwhelm your position’ had been his rebuke when Ardashir had questioned the wisdom of sending two hundred men to secure sixteen islands. Essentially the mission was to dump a dozen men on each rock and have them run up the flag. It was not for anyone to question the nature of this mission, the interests of the empire necessitated it.

‘Sir, Commando 1, reports landfall.’

‘Excellent. Tell them to dig in and prepare defensive positions. Fox holes, wire entanglements, communication trenches, command dug outs, the works. But they don’t need me to tell them that. Have them get on with it. The same instructions to the others as they radio in.’

‘Very good Sir.’
The marines coming ashore in the delta area have been split into sixteen detachments, termed commandos, as they come ashore they prepare defensive positions appropriate for the dozen or so men each commando comprises.
Babkhan - Quite literally not of this world.
