Restoration of the Apollo Foundation

Post by Emperador Augustin »

In a resolution which seems to appease the majority of discontent over the Audentior dispute, I am resurrecting the Apollo Foundation. However, it will now function on a system which I had hoped to implement earlier but did not have the time to do. Now I have no choice in the matter, but that is not of concern at the moment.

The Apollo Foundation will be managed as a cross between a banking institution and a safety deposit box. No land will be preserved by the Apollo Foundation on the MCS or anywhere else for that matter. ALL that the Foundation will be preserving is the titular legalities of a dead micronation. Bascially, but not legally binding, we add a printed, static and maintained intellectual copyright to your micronation and make sure everyone knows it and adheres to it.

There is little the Foundation can actually do to force someone NOT to use a name we're preserving. However, I believe the backlash of ignoring the institution would be far more detrimental than simply respecting the wishes of those who have deposited their dead nations in our care. Not to mention to true owners would have the Foundation to lean upon and defend their claims should such a situation arise, thus giving them further aid in combatting fraud, false claims and so forth.

The new rules will cover deposits, withdrawls, cosignee deposits and withdrawls, and leasing. It will also manage cultural projects, preservation efforts, archiving and other such related materials as with microarchaeology. Initially the organisation will be chaired by myself and Scott Alexander, as we both previously ran it. Although I fully intend to flesh this administration out and bring a number of individuals on board from multiple micronations.
In general, this has been agreed upon by all parties involved with the Audentior dispute. Audentior will be removed from the MCS map or a lease will be negotiated by Treesia to keep it there. But that will be between the Audente cosignees (ironically me and Scott) and Treesia. Not the Grand Commonwealth, MCS or the Foundation. In any event, Audentior will be admitted to a restored Foundation as its first protected micronation.
