Ok, I wasn't aware of this whole being barred thing. Personally I find that a bit harsh. Can I ask everyone in MCS, if we change our name may we remain and have a good shot at claiming? We still won't be based on a dead nation, but you know yourself...

1) New Lovely,

There is NOTHING to stop you claiming. I was talking about nations that are in the Apollo Foundation. Do not listen to my madness.

2) Spangle,

Yes, there is. I was inquiring about it! :D

True. That's not the reason you were rejected. A few of us were just personally complaining about your name and the nature of it.

Exactly.

New Lovely, we embrace all nations so long as their claims are sensible and they do not violate our ToS. You are doing neither (well technically you're breaking the 3-month rule but let's disregard that for the purposes of this post). People arguing about your name has little affect on your claim - the only way I think it did here was people becoming interested then pointing our your inactivity and provoking you (yes, provoking you) into becoming angry and lashing out.

I personally don't think we're that inactive. We have 4 parties running for the general election on July 1st, and we've only been a nation since the 26th of May

Trust us we know how to define activity :P

Activity is defined over a long period of time, we've heard the story a million times where a new nation comes along claiming they've had twenty citizens join and that they want a huge chunk of land (Not that this neccesarily applies to you). What I'm saying is, activity really can only be judged truely after several months. Micronationalism is a tough hobbie, it's hard to keep citizens occupied, and therefore activity high.

Your inactivity is pretty bad IMO.

But you are definately getting better... I suggest that everyone take a look at their forum now, for those of you that remember what it looked like so many days ago you will notice a definite improvement. That Coat of Arms (provided by the College of Arms no doubt ;)) looks nice by the way.

New Lovely, come back when you're 3 months old and perhaps you'll be accepted (I make no promises however).

because CIS:
can help with relations
can help nations get onto MCS
can give nations more than they would normally get on their own due to the grouped activity
can help with recwar, we currently have a one hundred billion dollar budget on MRWS
can help nation's activity as members from one state can go to another easier

et cetera et cetera

Various reasons; collective security, and fair distribution of land are the main ones. Although "Gaia" have recently tried to take advantage of the CIS' generosity with the later.

My Two Cents (because I haven't been reading this thread)

1. That point about New Zealand, while it is true that we are not trying to convince them to change our name, we are influencing them however we can. that's because bigger nations (and bigger micronations in this case) will always try to influence things.

2. That latest claim you made (The Map one) was too big IMO.

3. With the names, it's easy to make one up. I thought mine up from playing a computer game. I think to country in the game was Novastan or something. Then I just picked two random countries and took parts of their name; tain and ia. Thus, Novatainia.

That doesn't mean anything if your commanders can't tell the difference between a sea dart and a sea skua :P (not aimed at cis just generally saying)
