Trading

Post by Andreas the Wise »

As an economics student, I've long been interested in intermicronational trade. The MI nations tried creating a method but it never got off the ground. I was wondering if there's any other nation out there that reguarly and actively participates in trade (ie changes what they trade, didn't just say "we'll trade some wheat for some oil" a year ago and leave it at that). If so, can you tell me what worked for you?

I'm also interested if there's any other nations who'd like to start trading but haven't.

It would be nice if this thread stayed on topic for a little while. I know it won't, but at least I can ask ... :wink:

@Craitman - we'll see how it works.
@Greenuk - we started with Fish, there are ways around it ...
@Spangle - I know, you've said. But mining is not trading ...
@Iehova - I'm halfway through grade 12, so up to halfway through grade 12 economics I suppose.
And a brief lesson in socialist economics by dear St Fenix.

Ok ... Grade 12 is our final grade/senior year in secondary school. I know the US system is sort of different ... I'm almost 17, if that helps put it in context.
I've been studying proper economics, as such, for a year and a half. I studied a finance sort of thing in grade 10, and business in grade 9, but that was more because the school didn't offer economics before 11/12. I'll probably study economics in university (which may or may not be similar to your college ....)

@Spangle
The problem always is - what's a reasonable amount of cotton to produce, or whats a reasonable amount of oil to produce etc ...

however much people agree on, it's personal preferance, if you really need a resource you're more likely to pay more... i.e. i want cotton :P

- Year 13 is our last

- Me too ( so we'd be in the same year if we went to the same school/college/sixth form)

- wouldn't university equivalate to university??? we start uni at around 18, so it's round-about the same...

Ok, uni is uni then. I just gathered from American shows they call it college ... it's confusing.

But you're English anyway, aren't you?

At Spangle - yes, you can want cotton lots, and pay more - that's the "economics" part. But as to amount of production - its all easier if you do it in percents ...
