The thing is, Brian, that you really dont need land on MCS to be a successful micronation. MCS is just an add on really. Sullifree can still function so long as you keep yourselves active on your forums/listserves.

Ardashir, if simulated warfare is the continuation of simulated politics by other means, then simulated condemnation of any simulated nation that simulates being aggressive and fails to respect other simulated nations' simulated territories is the only proper simulated response. I don't know what level you're trying to work on, but by golly you'll stay there.

You will notice from Executive Order (one of the early ones) Moose that the GC does not engage in hacking or forum warfare. Totally unacceptable.

It's too bad, considering the fact that it is a way to actually enforce your claims. The past couple of years have been quite boring because of the lack of this threat.

For all the objections being thrown my way, it seems you people are arguing more with eachother and then directing that anger at me.

I am doing my job. Two members have, through official diplomatic channels by which the MCS maintains communications with its clients, come into dispute over a parcel of land. The GC is a longtime member and a respectable one at that. I have no reason to deny their dispute. It'd be the same if Shireroth came forward with a disputed claim.

But these things go on a case-by-case basis and, obviously, the eccentric booyah is seperated from the legitimate material. You cannot put something like this into word-for-word protocol since the fluctuations in micronations simply do not allow for such a system to function properly and efficiently.

While Ryan technically is a Babkhan, I do not accuse him of losing his neutrality in that ultimate matter. I have known Ryan for a long time and know his intents; this is not a concern. What is a concern, however, is the fact that he allowed the ability to mark a country as disputed territory as a result of RecWar when one country refuses to participate in it.
Ryan, while normally I would agree with you here, the issue (which doesn't exist anymore, but the point still stands as the GC feels otherwise) was different. Sulifree was a nation that does not participate in recreational warfare. I am sure that there will still be nations in the future that will not participate in recreational warfare, or refuse to participate in a RecWar. Disputed land should be used for cases where there is actual disputed land - Lac Glacei is probably a good example. But in the case when someone starts a RecWar, and the other side does not want to participate in it, the claim should end right there. The war cannot happen because it is only one side. I have done this in the past. Do you remember the time after the secesion of Shireroth from Audentior? I used GIF wars (Bad RecWar with my horrible blob maps) to show the AIN attacking the rebel province. The problem here is that the post was just deleted and I was laughed at. Regardless of the respectability of the GC, (which it isn't, if you have been looking at micronationalism lately - its actions have been merely to troll other micronations) this issue is the same. The opponent refused to participate in the war for whatever reason, and therefore it cannot be considered to have happened. Otherwise, you could do what Griaus has done. It just makes a mockery of the MCS if any nation, regardless of their respectability, RecWars in a nation that does not RecWar, and the "invaded" territory is marked as disputed. There ARE simulationist micronations that have land on the MCS map, but hate the concept of RecWar, you know. HOWEVER, if the opponent did recwar, it could be marked as disputed.

This is not the real world. Simulated warfare must be mutually consentual due to its nature that it is not enforcable.

Bill3000, with all due respect, not sure if I agree with this. Warfare is not what makes micronations interesting, it is what makes micronations sinister. Micronationalism can be fun through peaceful means if we work together.
