Voting on Atkins

Post by Ryan »

Seeing as there is a large amount of discontent (I have other choice words which I'll keep to myself) over the Atkins map which has been implemented, I have decided to try and be a bit more fair about it. After spending countless hours talking with people beforehand, like Lachlan, Liam, Iain and most of the people at the GC who claim to have known nothing about it beforehand, I'll let all our members vote on the map.

Simple majority rules.

If it's approved, we keep the Atkins map and seek out a plan generally agreeable to all that is simple yet effective in establishing a regulated claims process.

If it's disapproved, we throw Atkins out the window, but still seek out an agreeable plan to regulate land claims.

Either way we get full membership input, and my so-called "dictatorship" is not so dictatorial. I have, after all, invested my money into this project to serve the greater community.

The way this will work is simple - one vote per member nation. GC and CIS count as one nation each. Members get to pick their delegates. You get one week to pick a delegate. A second week to vote on the map. The third week we make whatever changes are necessary.

Current members are:
Istvanistan
Natopia
Shireroth
Confederacy of Imperial States
Matbaa
Monovia
Anthelia
Alexandria
Stormark
Grand Commonwealth
Antica
Cyberia
Gotzborg
Woodstania
Talamthom
Taishen (Chi Nam)
Middle Korea
Lovely
Hurmu
Paulovia
Lac Glacei
Charlotta
Treithar
Riponia
Ibelin

New Oscland, New-Empire and Nova England have all become part of the CIS and have thus negated obtaining an independent vote.

As an additional note, if a member does NOT vote, then their vote will be counted as an abstention.

All members are being notified of this via a message posted directly to their forums. If you have questions, please make a new thread and leave this one for delegate declarations.

You may declare your chosen delegate in this thread.

EDIT: As an additional note on fairness, no one person may be delegate for more than one member. For example, I cannot represent both Shireroth and Lac Glacei. I can simply represent Lac Glacei.

Since the GC and Lemuria are leaving, perhaps we should just make their votes noted.

I know this is rather pathetic, but can anybody enlighten me as to what the Atkins plan actually is?

I am claiming GC's seat As Chancellor of Foreign Affairs. If the GC bill to leave Micras passes then Obvoiusly this doesnt matter. But until then I will participate as befitting my station as Chancellor of Foreign Affairs.

The Atkins Map is not being revoked until all members have voted on it. If it is voted out, then I will acede to the majority, and only then will it be revoked.

Revoking it now, simply at the behest of the GC, would be biased. Something I'm already accused of being.

Sir the motion I made was to start the voting not to get you to do something simply at the behest of the GC

Voting will commence as soon as all members have been given a chance to name their delegates. In that manner their votes can be confirmed and insure agreement by their respective states.

I am the representative of Anthelia. I thought that was so obvious that it need not be formally announced, so I hope you haven't been waiting for me.

Actually, yes. Unless it's declared in this thread, a member's vote will be counted as an abstention. If it wasn't done that way, then any two-bit person can pop their head in, say "I represent nation X", and vote for them.
