Antica Update

Post by Nick Foghorn Leghorn »

Here's an updated map of Antica. No new territory, just moving some internal boundaries around.
As I made this map, I'm going to wait until Ryan comes to decide if this map is good enough, since I'm obviously biased in this case.

Because of the use of the names "Macadam" and "Mondesia".

Mondesia? Honestly, no clue. It was part of Shireroth and then removed from the map. No one had it since then. By the way, Terre d'Riches was NOT Mondesia, nor had any real connection with them - Babkha had no right to Mondesia whatsoever. Probably the only country I can think of that had IP rights would be Shireroth, due to Lac Glacei precedence, (Just beause you gave up the territory on the MCS map does not mean that you gave up the rights to the territory) but at the same time I have to quote Ryan's new precendence on Audentior:
It is hereby ordered by the MCS executive that the territory comprising Nova Audentia violates the terms of our service and was claimed under false and questionable pretenses. As a consequence, Nova Audentia is being removed from the MCS map. Anything even remotely resembling Audentior or Nova Audentia will not be allowed in the future. This goes for other micronations also removed from the map. A dead nation is a dead nation. Do not plagarise and/or attempt to resurrect the past unless you yourself created the original. Come up with your own names and ideas.
I do know that Macadam is part of another micronation now, outside of the sector, from what Ryan told me. However, I do not know if that nation still exists.

But at the same time, neither nation is part of the Apollo Foundation. With Mondesia, no one is left to defend its rights. I need Ryan to make a decision here, not me. Trust me, I'd love you guys to use that map, since it allows historical continuity, but at the same time, I know more than any other person the dangers of historical perversion. :P

This is basically the same scenario as arose with Nova Audentia. Which is why I also decided to remove that from the map. If, for example, Antica died, do you think I'd be able to claim it as a province in a new nation occupying part or all of its previous landmass? Hell no!

Macadam is still a part of Ascalon. They are simply a real-world micronation and no longer really participate in the online activities. Mondesia was a previous micronation as well. Velike is stolen from Audentior, but it's a Russian word, so I really can't gripe about it.

So my quarrel rests with Macadam and Mondesia. I don't mind new names derived from the old ones, but I really cannot allow for the use of old names.

Use variants if you wish. Call Macadam something like Nutland (and put Steven there :P ) and call Mondesia something like Valdesia (valley being the opposite of mountain).

Except Mondesia technically belongs to Shireroth. If Shireroth gave permission, surely they could use it, no? Audentior could have been used if Scott and Ryan (...third person here) (+ me for Airosamente) gave permission to the GC, but we didn't.

Historical territories should be allowed to be used if there is permission by those who were in it, or who had controlled it last if the people who founded it are nowhere to be seen, in the case of Mondesia.
