Colonisation of Indigo

Post by Andreas the Wise »

Can I reopen the discussion for allowing active micronations to colonise parts of Indigo? I'm trying to work out a way with Passas to make it realistic, costing us resources (from the resources map) and time to build stuff towards it.

To answer questions before they come from what I read in old disucssions on this:
No, I don't want a whole other world to manage, just a map for it (how hard can that be) and the occasional colony by active nations, limited to a certain size (ie you make one claim on the new planet after you send a colony there, you don't expand the colony, and, if you really wanted a second claim, it would be a year later or so on)
No, its not for noob nations.
No, its not just incase Micras is full, its to let current members, who are active on MCS, to colonise.

I've never liked the idea of space travel into the Micras system past the moon. I think the planets are only there to give a higher degree of realism to the whole organisation, to make it more Earth-like. The fact that most micronations have different ages of technology would make space travel impractical, unless you're gonna have wooden spaceships; the MCS should be as accessible as possible to everyone, hence its pretty much just a map of Micras, nothing more.

i tried to vote no but it's gone wrong...

i say no, i also say we make these other planets un-inhabitable apart from perhaps signs of water being on the surface or a nice icey moon with water underneith...

It's interesting you all say you vote no, considering that according to the poll all 5 votes are Yes ...
@Colnel Vilhelm - Technology is irrelevant, this is only for interested nations, ones that claim to have no technology won't bother ...

EDIT: But with 53 views theres obviously a number of people who like space travel ..

Selectable options come as standard. I've never seen this numbered nonsense on a phpBB before now.

It seems to me that technology is relevant. This would encourage nations who wish to make use of the full efforts of the MCS Administration to make their technological level acceptable to create starships and the like. The MCS should on no accounts encourage, influence or order how a nation is run or what the nation is. Technological level is included. Say if Eorlthelod or however you spell it wants to make a claim; now, certain parts of the MCS are closed to them because of the fact that they have no cars let alone spaceships. It's like prejudice against the less technologically advanced.

I say no.
We're having enough problems linking Micras and Giess together, let alone Micras with Indigo and Momiji. Many Micran nations haven't used their MCS land to its fullest potential, and now they want to blast off to space?
It doesn't make sense to me. Especially what with the admin council being understaffed at the moment.

I actually think this point is rather irrelevant. The whole GSO-MCS debate is completely different. Momiji is part of the MCS and therefore an internal affair, whereas connection with Giess is one for the entire intermicronational community. You say "let alone Indigo", Big Z - but surely it should be "Micras with Indigo, let alone Giess"? :P
