Why would they WANT to? A micronation should be a labor of love, a representation of your dreams, an expression of your inner self! It should be a community of like-minded friends, a group of people united in a single will! And the MCS map should be a way to add more depth and complexity to culture ...

Thanks re:Hurdland. Will fix. Re: Numenor - you told me to fix the problems. Emyn Arnen was one of the problems; it's supposed to be a barren range of hills in Ithilien, and therefore not even a city, a continent away from Numenor, and discovered about two thousand years after Numenor ever existed. ...

Tropico seems really nice, and they should get land in three months, but I think the three month rule is a good one. Or, at the very least, there should be a one month or six week rule. A case-by-case basis would just lead to trouble. First of all, we're all too nice and would probably give it to an...

Update 10.15

Or something. We need to think up a new numbering system to cover both Spangle's updates to the old map and my updates to the new map. But the new map is indeed updated. You can find it at: http://www.micromaps.org/maps/political.png (we also need to think up a new file naming system, but whatever)....

There used to be a VERY old convention for the micronational calendar in which one day = one year. It worked out pretty well, with nations usually lasting between about fifty and one thousand "years", which is realistic enough. You can find a JavaScript version of it here: http://www.geoci...

Bollocks, it's done with fractals. ...this makes no sense as a critique of their lack of detail. Although fractals are potentially infinitely complex, any real-world example of a fractal has to stop at a certain number of iterations. Any map made with fractals that uses too few iterations looks unn...

No.

They've got a whole continent already, they're not amazingly active, I'm getting annoyed with the incessant colonization, and the thought of adding all those densely packed cities makes me cry.

Give them Taesong, because they annexed it fair and square, and that's it.

Control of Destiny:the legendary micronational computer game

Harvey Steffke was formerly a micronationalist and is currently a game developer. He's spent the last few years working on an RPG, Control of Destiny, which is nominally set in Micras, released a new version of it last week. The groundwork was lain five or six years ago, when Micras was a very diffe...

This is your chance to have your name immortalized on the MCS Map, for future generations of micronationalists to stare at in awe. Somewhere on the new Map 10.0, there is a hidden message. The first person to find and decode the message and post the full text on this forum will get a mountain or may...

Thanks Babs. As regards your points above, they're good ones and I'll fix them next update. I tried to shrink the ice caps because of the number of countries in the polar region and the unlikelihood of flourishing nations covered in ice (blame global warming!), but if Beaugium thinks of itself as ic...
