Zhu is the Jingdaoese equivalent of 'sir'. It is used by Jingdaoese to refer to someone who has received a great honour (being admitted to an honorary Order by the Heavenly Empire, for example). Nobility does not automatically has the right to use this title.

Since the Sheng Restoration the title also was used to refer to the governor-generals of a zhou.

A true Jingdaoese will often ignore using the title for himself and will keep insisting to be called comrade, as he must always remain humble towards the honours bestowed to him by the Heavenly Light.
