O Great Nation is the national anthem of Natopia. The lyrics were written by Nathan Waffel-Paine, and sent to the Natopian Frenzy for consideration on March 23, 2005. The anthem is set to the tune of the refrain in Beethoven's Ode to Joy. The Frenzy voted to approved the anthem and it has been considered among Natopia's national icons ever since.

History

O Great Nation was written to replace Natopia's second national anthem, Natopia Over All, also written by Nathan Waffel-Paine but set to the tune of John Philip Sousa's Liberty Bell March. Waffel-Paine was unsatisfied with the lyrics and overall sound of the original anthem and therefore Natopian Over All was only the national anthem for a little over one month. The first Natopian national anthem was Natopia, Natopia, Superior to Thee.

Lyrics

O Great Nation, My Great Nation, pleas for peace and sovereignty.
Devote your life to our Great Strife while singing of hope and peace.
All of us will put our trust into the Nation we hold dear.
O Great Nation, My Great Nation, pleas for peace and sovereignty.

O Empire, my Empire, hear our cries for truth and love.
Unite the earth in one Great Berth under the Empire's rule.
Make this world for young and old a place to live a worthy life.
O Empire, my Empire, hear our cries for truth and love.

Our dear Frenzy, O dear Frenzy, protect the Nation from all.
Defend our Rights with all your Mights so that we all may prosper.
Serve with valor and with candor to attain the goal we seek.
Our dear Frenzy, O dear Frenzy], protect the Nation from all.
