The New South Vietnam national football team was the football team which most recently represented the Britannic autonomous territory of New South Vietnam, and previously represented the Craitish and New Brittanian autonomous territory of the same name. It was a member of the EMUFA and a founding member of the FMF, and was run by the Liên Đoàn Bóng Đá Chí Nam.

The team existed twice in the FMF's history; firstly between the organisation's founding and early 2007 as an autonomous territory of New Brittania, and secondly between mid-2007 and late 2008 as an autonomous territory of New Brittania again, Craitland and the Britannic Empire.

History

New South Vietnam was one of the founding members of the FMF when the organisation was created in October 2006 prior to the first FMF World Cup. The national team competed in the tournament, finishing third in their group with four points and missing-out on a quarter-final place on goal difference. Following the tournament, New South Vietnam left Micras after New Brittania reduced its land claims and was succeeded by Númenor.

New South Vietnam returned in mid-2007 after New Brittania succeeded Númenor. However, the national team's FMF membership was granted too late for the team to be involved in the year's World Cup qualifiers. The team competed in the inaugural EMU Championships later in the year, advancing from their seven-team group as a best third-place finisher with eleven points. In the quarter-finals, the team lost 3–1 to Craitland.

In early 2008, New South Vietnam was annexed by Craitland after New Brittania left Micras. The team competed in their first ever World Cup qualifying later in the year, finishing second in their six-team group with 24 points and advancing to the play-offs, where they comfortably beat Ocia 5–0 in a one-off match. The team's success continued into the finals, where they finished second in their group with four points before being knocked-out in the quarter-finals by eventual runners-up Passas thanks to a last-minute goal. New South Vietnam was annexed by the Britannic Empire following the World Cup. However, the Britannic Empire was declared dead and left Micras in late 2008, along with New South Vietnam.
