The Republic of Ludavia is a micronation.

History

Early Ludavian Settlements

Ludavia, in the early ages, was a collection of 4 major tribal kingdoms (along with several nomadic tribes whose territorial holdings were constantly shifting with war and other crises. The tribes are widely thought by historians to have been immigrants from the south, who emigrated from their original homes seeking new hunting grounds and farmable land.

The first Ludavian settlements appeared to have been small fishing villages along the coast, with archaeological evidence suggesting residencies made of clay and dirt, while more important buildings such as courthouses being made of stone. One of the most interesting features of Ludavian settlements were massive stone spires that were used to hold books and other writings. Though few of these spires remain, several ancient texts such as the Codex of King Adone and the Spacial Canon were originally discovered within these spires. The last one of these spired built was destroyed in civil war almost 5000 years later.

Historians agree that for a period of about 50 years, there was no formal government. Rather, the people were given the right to speak once a week in a meeting held in the largest city of the time, referred to in most texts as Centglim. Centglim, in literature of the time, was referred to as the “heart of Ludavia” and was where the Temple of Adone would be built two centuries after the first King of Ludavia was crowned.
