The Florian State of Origin is the annual best-of-three Florian rugby league football match series between two state representative sides, the Kingsland Reds and Southland Jaguars. It is referred as the Florian Republic's greatest sports rivalry, it is one of the premier sporting events in the country attracting massive television audiences and usually selling out the stadiums in which the games are played. Players are selected to represent the Florian State in which they played their first senior rugby league game, hence the name 'state of origin'. The series used to be played between the Heartlands of Rugby League and expansionist areas of rugby league but due to a state reform, the FRFL decided to change the teams to representative sides of these states.
