Foundation
Eblis was founded as a Crusading Order in November 2004 about the time of Sennar's seccession from Alexandria, and it was this series of events which led to the short but bloody war for which Eblis is best remembered. Those involved in Eblis at the time recall it as being a 'blantant Papel state' (presumably of the Grand Commonwealth), and it is presumably due to this strong political link between Eblis and the Grand Commonwealth that roughly half of Eblis' territory, the province of Terre d'Riches, was signed away to Babkha within months of Eblis joining the MCS.
By its very nature Eblis had an interventionist foreign policy under the guise of numerous crusades, and the many eloquent pleas for the shedding of infidel blood of its Magister Generalis, Marcellus von Grobe (Ardashir Khan), did not amount to much until the some might say strangely coincidental appearance of the Islamic Republic of Sennar on Apollonia, bordering Eblis. The Crusader State had already had some border disputes with Antica and, weak from its loss of Terre d'Riches, declared a crusade of sorts against Sennar, which was promptly supported both militarily and politically by the Grand Commonwealth and Babkha. Sennar pleaded Babkha to reconsider its decision but as Radio Rastakhiz of Babkha reported, its pleas only made matters worse:
Richmond, Terre des Riches: Rumours have been circulating of a minor Islamist revolt beyond the frontier of Eblis. The Islamic Republic of Sennarstan, claims to have moved to this location in order to be closer to its Arabic ‘brothers’ of Babkha. A statement that came as something of a surprise to the Faris-Zarathustrian majority in Babkha. Other reports claim that Sennarstan has been declared amidst the ruins of vanquished Alexandria in the far north on the border with Arminy. Other reports claim that Umra’s little toe knew more about Islam than the Islamic Republic of Sennarstan which may transpire to be little more than an ill-advised venture by Spelev and Edgard into the territory of Terrorism Chic.
The Declaration of War
Part of the unusually elaborate declaration of war issued against Sennar was as follows:
Hochmeister Marcellus von Grobe, by the grace of God, Magister Generalis of Eblis,Outremer & Alukustan, and mighty conqueror of its enemies, to Bassaev, protector of the Saracens of Sennar. I bid you quit your preparations for war against our domain, and forthwith quit our borders as the pharaohs of old fled before the God of the Israelites. You have profaned the lands of Camerica, Monlan and Saskberta over which we rule by the command of our eternal King St Peter the Little. Concern for our office demands that we look with serious attention upon your crimes, which are of such bold and heinous presumptuousness. Wherefore we require you to give back the land you call Sennar, and everything that you have taken, and, in addition, to pay a fine commensurate with such dreadful crimes as you have committed. It will follow that all charges levied against you shall be consistent with tabulations as are laid down by divine law.
We shall not be afraid to fight you since the Lord gives proofs of his kindness towards his faithful servants by reserving for them enemies such as yourself, whom he could destroy by his world alone, in order that they might come to the aid of the many who dwell near those enemies, for love of him, and that they might have a means of atonement and salvation by repaying him something of what he did for them by smiting said enemies in His name. In these lands of ours there are missionaries who spread the net of their preaching for a catch of souls, so that the trumpet of sacred eloquence resounds in the in the innermost minds of those barbarians, and the fountain of the faith distributes its streams among the various provinces formerly deluded by idolatry. Then when those fellows have joined the Household of God in the new plantation of the faith they have become equal in the love of good things and harmonious reflective works with true believers. Now they are imperilled for in your infidel hearts the Beast rises up, swallowing up the multitudes in his gaping mouth, confident that the Elwynn may flow into his mouth, against whom it is necessary that Christian people gird up their loins for the heathen vermin of Sennar do rage and capture youths whom they wear out with horrifying labours and immolate in demoniacal fires along with virgins crowned in mockery with thorns and slay the old men and slaughter the boys, some piercing with darts, some dashing against trees.
Against your crimes those who take up arms against the barbarity of the infidel and fight back with manful potency are protected by the armour of God on the right hand and on the left for they do serve the Apostolic See which is the general mother of all and grants the shield of her protection at the request of believers.
The exercise of piety in war against you is the more strenuously pursued in order that greater impiety can be averted. Accordingly we will exercise our ministry of warfare so that the Church may spread into your lands, yea verily even into the place of your encampment, where we will stretch the ropes of our tabernacle and call the poor and the disadvantaged to the wedding feast of the king of kings and green shoots and reeds of bounty and Gods mercy may spring up wherein the land was formerly despoiled by the owls and vultures of Sennar[...]
We have commanded all the Christians of our realm, in penitence and for the remission of their sins, to apply themselves to the restoration of the Church in Camerica, Monlan and Saskberta. We have urged those proposing to set out on pilgrimage, in the spirit of penitence or prompted by religious ardour, to direct instead all their resources towards the restitution of the Patrimony of All Saints & Martyrs. We have pledged that when, with God's help, the Bishop's seat is securely held and the territory itself harbours Christian people standing opposed to Saracens, they will enjoy Gods mercy no less than if they had reached their intended destinations

The Conflict and Demise
After declaring war on the 26th of December 2004, crusader forces advanced deep into the heart of Sennari territory, the remainder of which was bombed into submission by an overzealous Babkhan Airforce, to such an extent that Sennar was marked as 'hell' on Babkhi military maps of the era. Eblis' victory over the Sennari bought it closer into the Babkhan sphere of influence and sewed the seeds for Eblis' ultimate demise.
Islands off the coast of what had been Terre d'Riches had formerly been part of the short-lived Communist nation of Rulczentia, the successor state to Rulak, which had itself been annexed by Babkha earlier on. The Babkhi seizure of Terre d'Riches should have alerted Eblis to long-term Babkhi territorial ambitions in the region, but Eblis remained for several more months until presumably agreeing to Babkhi annexation of its territories. The Kingdom of Northworthy occupied Southern Eblis for a brief period before the Grand Commonwealth colonised Southern Eblis and created the Sovereign Territory of Palastina and the Islands on the 31st of March 2005, the city names of Eblis being similar to those in the macronational region of Israel-Palestine. Signs of Eblis' brief independence could still be seen on the MCS map for long after, with Tyre as a city of Riponia until map 13.4.1.
