ENAT (Eŷens Netoles ar' Anvertät e'Tavralția, English: Security and Intelligence National Agency) is the principal security agency of the Republic of Gerenia. Its main responsibilities are within the country and include investigation of grave crimes, internal and border security, and surveillance. It is headquartered in Salnat, a Klämen suburb.

Overview

The ENAT is mainly responsible for internal security of the Gerenian state, overseeing border security, and the fight against organized crime and smuggling. The ENAT has a branch for activities outside Gerenia, the STS (Semeŷens ar' Tavralția Starnetoles, English: Foreign Intelligence Agency). All law enforcement agencies in Gerenia work under the direction of the ENAT, if needed.

The ENAT head answers directly to the President of Gerenia, as the ENAT director is appointed by the President.

History

The ENAT was created due to the need of a security agency to fight organized crime in Gerenia and prosecute dangerous criminals, as the provincial police forces often found it difficult to work in coordination. The ENAT was founded on 3 November 2014, and it was operative by January 2015. In February, the STS was created in response to the discovery of a community of Gerenians living outside the country, the Tallandor Colony.

Organization

The ENAT is composed of several departments, each with a particular field of action. The structure of the ENAT is the following (incomplete):

  • Director's Office
  • Economic Security Department
  • Foreign Intelligence Agency
  • Internal Security Department
  • National Border Guard
  • Resources and Planning Department
  • Science, Technology and Engineering Department
