Beaugium v Holzborg Preview
With both teams losing their first match, both the Holzer team as well as the Beaugians will look to get back on track with their World Cup campaigns in a must win encounter between the two teams in Morfaga. Beaugium, the former 2006 champions in Taesong slumped to a 2-1 win with Armand Diarra putting away two strikes in a comeback that nobody expected whilst Holzborg narrowly lost to Valencia in their debut world cup match.
After some dismal weather in some of the previous matches encountered in Group C, the sun looks set to be holding out for the ultimate survival match for Beaugium and Holzborg, with Beaugium being the outclear favourites on paper. However we have to once be reminded that this is football, and with some shock results we've seen so far in the tournament, the Holzers can believe they can go in this game and win it.
Beaugium will look to make several changes, with the key being in goal as Fred Frederickson is replaced with Oliver Oliverson of Romero Sport. The young goalkeeper is thought to be seen as a direct replacement with Frederickson and the Beaugians will look into using the Tellian based keeper following the 2-1 loss in what seems to be a harsh decision for the world cup winning Frederickson. The second big change is the change in shape. With Beaugium only scoring 1 in the opener, the former champions look to attack in numbers as they switch to a 4-3-3 formation.
Alan Alanson has been dropped in the midfield as a result of this with Sam Samson coming in to fill in the vacated roll up front alongside target man Phil Phillipson and captain Steve Stevenson. The highly rated youngster is seen as a third option to the other two he is paired with, and will look to use his technical ability and pace to run riot against a fairly inexperienced Holzborg.
The Holzers will also change their shape in preparation for the game, with the newcomers opting for a 5-3-2 formation in a defensive setting, with Wilhelm Schneider and skipper Marko Breumer providing the width as wing backs. Philipp Metzelsacker and Fabian Väsen have both been dropped, as midfielder Otto Keffman and Andrew Roman replaces them as the latter is added to a new 5 man defence. Up front the threat remains with foreign based professionals Juergen Littbarski and Kristian Jentsch with Jentsch attempting to add to his 1 world cup goal scored against Valencia.
The Beaugians want to attack, but the Holzers want to defend. This match between Beaugium v Holzborg may look a little like David and Goliath, but remembered what happened in that battle. Who knows, it could happen in this encounter.
Predicted Line-ups:
Beaugium (4-3-3): 20 O Oliverson (GK), 21 N Neilson, 4 P Peterson, 14 J Jackson, 3 A Alexanderson, 13 B Benson, 18 H Harrison, 7 A Adamson, 19 S Samson , 10 S Stevenson (capt), 9 P Phillipson.
Holzborg (5-3-2): 1 J Pottinger (GK), 2 W Schneider, 5 A Roman, 20 A von Schlidt, 4 Pedro Silva, 3 M Breumer (capt), 7 M Burkhardt, 14 O Keffman, 6 A Hertl, 10 J Littbarski, 11 K Jentzsch.

Monovia v Valencia Preview
With the early kick off resulting in a Holzborg win, one of these teams will now be heading to the top should they be able to win this match as Monovia and Valencia look set to be the first team to clear the group stages of this year's World Cup.
Monovia won a historic match in their opening match against Beaugium. After going 1-0 down, a double first half strike from Armand Diarra allowed the Monovians to come back and win 2-1 by the final whistle. World Cup newcomers Valencia themselves also won their first match 2-1 against Holzborg, also another world cup newcomer. However they look to face a trickier side against a far more experienced Monovian side in comparison to the Holzer side.
Valencia will look to practically use same team as previously as they look for continuity and some form. Being an EMUFA side, the Valencians will have a strong travelling fan base at Oin's Street, and with a capacity of just under 44000 the stadium in Kilbay will be full of hope as both of these sides will look to qualify outright from the groups. Valencia will depend on the finishing of Manny Cabrera, although the team will make one change, replacing Juninho Santos with Francesc Hernández in the centre of midfield.
Monovia will look to continue with their 4-4-2 and will look to their more experienced players, with Lucas Zaya and Armand Diarra posing the main threat in their 4-4-1-1 formation.
Looking at both sides, it appears that both of them are well and evenly matched, and should this be reflected on the pitch we should have a good game. As a nation, Monovia will look to be the more experienced side in terms of World Cup history, however Valencia do have some quality players that can match or better the Monovian side.
Monovia look to play in all black while the Valencians will be playing in the yellow kit.
Predicted Line-ups:
Valencia (4-5-1): 1 D Palazio (GK), 2 G Reveillière, 4 J Moreira (capt), 13 L Blanco, 6 V Emmanuel, 7 S Javier, 21 J Ricardo, 5 G Ferreira, 19 F Hernández, 11 X Levas, 10 M Cabrera.
Monovia (4-4-1-1): 18 G Maurel (GK), 22 Z Emans, 6 D Große, 14 P Nikolic, 3 L Ducourtioux, 11 J B Alain, 13 R Zabavnik, 4 M Wojchiechowski (capt), 7 A Lalic, 21 L Zaya, 9 A Diarra.

Monovia 1-0 Valencia
Monovia put themselves on the brink of reaching the quarter-finals for the very first time with a late win over Valencia.
An uninspiring game could only muster a chance per team before the half-time break. Valencia were the first on the offensive, with Francesc Hernández snatching at Santi Javier's low, hard cross from the by-line and only managing to slice the ball straight up into Grégory Maurel's grasp. Monovia's response came at the end of the half and Lucas Zaya came closest to scoring until the end of the game and he forced Daniel Palazio into a solid save. Michel Wojchiechowski touched a superb pass past Jesús Moreira to Zaya's feet and the Biulya äqi Jedu striker's reaction shot was palmed well away by Palazio as he dived to his right.
After half-time, nothing really improved. Both teams held back and only two other clear-cut chances were formed before the last five minutes. Zaya again went close, but his header from a Jean-Baptiste Alain corner could only find the roof of Palazio's netting. Midway through the half, Valencia's Santi Javier swerved a free-kick from thirty yards after being brought-down by Wojchiechowski but his strike bent too much and went a good few feet wide of Maurel's left post.
Come the last five minutes, Monovia eventually ended the stalemate with a scrambled goal from Armand Diarra. Zaya forced a corner off Vítor Emmanuel which Adam Lalić took. The ball was headed down by Robert Zabavnik and saved by Palazio, but the ball came loose and Zaya poked at it. Gonzalo Reveillère was closest to Zaya's weak effort on the right-hand post but as the right-back tried to clear it, he was closed by Diarra and the defender's punt deflected off the Aztecs forward and into the roof of the net with a matter of minutes before the end of the match.
With so little happening in the game, only one minute of time was added-on and the whitle blew soon after the 90 to almost secure Monovia's progression into the knock-out rounds.

Tellia v Toketi Preview
The final group games commence at Morfaga with huge expectations on both sides. 2006 finalists Tellia will face the 2007 finalists Toketi in an encounter which is valued much more stronger for the Toketi team than the Tellians. Whilst Tellia only need a draw to go through, Toketi will need to bring a "do or die" attitude to the game as they will need to win to progress.
Toketi look to keep the same lineup, shape and formation as previously. The only change they will make is switching captains back to Turk ronAjain following a trial period with Tom Kenstein. ronAjain, 38 will be given a chance to be captain in a match in what could be his final appearance for the Toketi team should they crash out. There will be a headache substitution as Alberto Trask will not be available as he has been suspended for picking up two yellow cards. The striker, who has often been deployed as a left winger coming on for his brother Ichigo, was given yellow cards for pretty reckless challenges.
Tellia on the other hand make several changes following their loss to Passas. Leonzio Pandolfi has been dropped at left back in favour of FC Fiorecittà's Alessandro De Laurentiis, while Gianluca Salmoiraghi will be dropped again in favour for Vincenzo Motta down the left flank. Andrea Luca Peruzzi still secures the striking role, despite pressure from Piero Donetti, who has been training fairly well.
These two sides have previously met in the 2006 world cup, with neither of them taking the honours back then in Taesong. However the stakes are different here, as both teams will want to progress and with their stature, going out would result in huge disappointment. Tellia just need to hold out, so it is pretty much game on Toketi.
Predicted Lineups:
Tellia (4-2-3-1): 16 R Flavienchini (GK), 2 M Große, 5 M Schiavvi, 4 P di Montezemolo, 23 A De Laurentiis, 10 F Diamo (capt), 6 K Jóhannsson, 12 V Hertz, 13 S Özker, 11 V Motta, 9 A L Peruzzi.
Toketi (4-4-2): 1 T ronAjain (GK) (capt), 2 P Neusin, 6 R Miesin, 5 N Jufirya, 3 T Ranjana, 17 J Zyxveldtsen, 4 Y Firanjan, 8 N Furber, 7 I Trask, 10 T Kenstein, 12 E Jowasaki.

Hamland v Passas Preview
Hosts Hamland are in a battle to qualify for the world cup. Both teams will need a win to go through, but as it's football there can only be one winner. The Hammish side however have a chance of going through with a draw should Toketi top the group by beating Tellia as they then would qualify via best result against group winners. However any other result may possibly lead to lots being drawn, so in most cases both teams will be looking for wins in order to secure their progression to the knockouts.
Passas make more changes to their squad. Sa Pazi is recalled into the right wing, with Danijel Đorđević being dropped in favour for John Nirimorf. The Passasean side will be depending on strikeforce of Philip Sherman and Lukasz Dabrowski, both of which have already scored in the world cup so far. There looks to be no changes to the shape of the team, with Eddie van Heart expected to stay in front of the defensive cover as Nick Verkslamp will be allowed to roam forward in the same 4-1-2-1-2 diamond formation they have used.
Hamland make no changes to their side, keeping to the 3-5-2 that beat Toketi 3-1 last week. The Hammish side will be looking for the width, in particular from Benjamin McVeigh down the right hand side of midfield, who will need to keep his head cool from transfer speculation regarding a move to Mortis Mercatoria FC in Shireroth. With a back 3, the Hammish will also be dependent on the likes of Ray Kartiksti, Peter MacKenzie and Eddie Winters to stay solid and deny Passas any opportunity, whilst they also do boast attacking options with Benjamin Craig and Andrew Miller up front.
With two very attacking sides, we should be in for a good match with some goals. Hamland have alot more to prove and they have more of a necessity to do well and proceed in their own world cup in their own nation, so Passas will need to raise their game. Both sides will see crashing out as a disappointment but this is renouned for being the group of death of 2010. Although it is pretty much safe to say that most people will be hoping for Hamland, unless they are Passasean.
Predicted Lineups:
Hamland (3-5-2): 1 R MacLeod (GK) (capt), 2 R Kartiksti, 15 E Winters, 6 P MacKenzie, 23 B McVeigh, 16 H Antar, 10 J Scott, 5 E Martin, 7 R Brown, 11 B Craig, 21 A Miller.
Passas (4-1-2-1-2): 1 M East (GK), 18 G Sinyakos, 2 O Hurtado, 5 N Davis, 3 S Bonny, 6 E van Heart, 13 S Pazi, 16 J Nirimorf, 8 N Verkslamp (capt), 9 L Dabrowski, 10 P Sherman.

Re: 2010 FMF World Cup Official Thread
After today's results, Hamland and Passas have been subject to the FMF's tie-breaking criteria after finishing on the same amount of points and goal difference, with the exact same amount of goals scored and conceded each. As such, the teams' results against group winners Toketi are taken into account, meaning that Hamland finish second and go through to the quarter-finals as they beat Toketi 3-1 while Passas could only lose 2-1 to Toketi.

Batavia v Stormark Preview
Batavia head into the Avidion Stadium for the final game against the Stormarkians firmly in pole position as they look to draw to proceed. Stormark will want to get their best result possible without knowing what could happen in the other match between Interland and Alexandria. In reality, the Stormarkian team will want to do well by winning and qualifying, however a draw may also be enough providing that Alexandria win against Interland. A loss for either of these sides will put them out of the tournament.
With both sides winning, Batavia keep their same team that beat Interland 2-1 last weekend. With Jan Mioch still out for at least this game, Jodocus van Haltna will keep his place in the starting 11, although with Mioch looking to be fit to play should Batavia get to the quarter finals, the Batavian number 14 will have to be in top notch to hold his place when Mioch returns. There is still no place for Tom Scholten in the midfield. The Fortuna Davignon midfielder, has been out of the Batavian starting lineup since his sending off from Craitland 2 years ago and with Pieter Leefma being in solid form, there is no signs of Scholten returning to the lineup anytime soon.
Stormark on the other hand will make one change to their lineup, in a very strange move. Defender Martin Jör moves from centre back to left back whilst Mika Kinnunen is dropped. As a result, Craitish based Jyrki Paatelainen joins the centre of defence in an experienced pairing alongside AC Scoglitto's Raimo Himanen. With Jör playing out of position for the first time for his nation and if not his career, it will look to be a strange but solid back four. Ari Illola remains on the right side of defence and will look to pose a threat going forward from the back.
Elsewhere in the Stormarkian team nothing is really changed, with the main threat coming from Fjalar Heidarsson and Aki Mäenpää up front with captain Tim Rainer trying to influence the midfield. The Batavians main threat will come from the ever more important Jowi Bach, with the towering, powerful striker depended on to holding up play as well as taking on players to score goals. The Batavians will stick to their 4-3-3 formation, hoping that Jeroen van Veen and van Haltna can provide some width as wing forwards. Tom Meesen should also be noted as another important Batavian player, with the goalkeeper captain being in tremendous form so far. The Batavian number 1 will be hoping to continue this by denying the Stormarkian any chances of a goal.
It is too close to call, however the smart money should be on Batavia advancing.
Predicted Lineups:
Batavia (4-3-3): 1 T Meesen (GK) (capt), 10 R van Rethel, 11 N van Enen, 4 J Meesters, 3 A Hodzelmans, 8 P Leefma, 7 H De Boer, 9 G Reve, 2 J van Veen, 5 J Bach, 14 J van Haltna.
Stormark (4-4-2): 13 R Mulkensson (GK), 22 A Illola, 23 R Himanen, 16 J Paatelainen, 6 M Jör, 7 S Luudge, 4 T Rainer (capt), 15 T Hjular, 20 T Gamst-Pedersen, 9 F Heidarsson, 18 A Mäenpää.
