Group A, Round 1
Interland 2-0 New Nsawam
Interland kicked off the first game of the tournament in style, with two brilliant set pieces from Marcin Orwolski either side of half time.
Halfway through the first half, Filip Maskat was hacked down outside the area by John Arthur. Orwolski's resulting free-kick found the bottom corner.
Five minutes after the restart, Orwolski made it two after he was tripped by the on-coming 'keeper, Fredua Abuntu. He took the penalty, and slotted it in the same corner as his free-kick.
Interland and Orwolski both with a two goals per game statistic to take into their next game.
Benevolent 0-4 Cräiteland
Cräiteland barged their way through to the top of the group with a convincing win over an inexperienced Benevolent team. In their last two meetings, Cräiteland managed an aggregate 7-0 scoreline against their northern island opponents.
Freddie Gaärsen and Zen Daviddlaw both scored two. Gaärsen's first, a tap-in after a good threaded ball by Markko Edmildón, came after only six minutes. Daviddlaw doubled the score just twelve minutes later when he headed in a Manta Pellegrino corner. Three minutes from the end of the first half, Daviddlaw scored his second after a good one-two with Gaärsen around Jeremy Tipton.
Gaärsen sealed the victory on the hour after running inside from the right-wing and curling it inside the far post with the outside of his boot.
With an even weaker Sharovia to play in their next game, Cräiteland look sure to add to the four from this match.
Bosworth 0-2 Nova England
Nova England removed the pressure on them to win their opening game, being on home soil for this tournament.
Star player Ka'an Peterson became the fourth player in Group A to score two goals in the opening game. Both coming after half-time.
Peterson headed in a Marcus Downs cross on 70 minutes, before doubling the score with two minutes remaining. This time Downs' cross was turned in by Peterson's shin.
Today's 4-0 beaten Benevolent are up next for Nova England.

Group B, Round 1
Kataria 2-1 Mexihco
Mexihco thought they had wrapped the game up with their first ever international goal on the 80 minute mark, but two very late goals gave Kataria an undeserved victory.
Kataria looked weak throughout the match, only relying on the services of 'keeper Yorihatsu Narazaki to keep them from going behind. He managed to hold his own until ten minutes from the end when a quick counter-attack ended with substitute striker, Santiago Toraidez, tapping the ball in from a narrow angle.
This lifted Kataria for the first time in the match and at the start of stoppage time, Shinji Ito managed to chip a cross off Raúl Renau and into the back of the net.
Ito was key with Kataria's next goal, after he won the ball with a sliding challenge straight from the restart. This threaded through Sho Nakayama, who took it past two Mexihcan defenders before slotting the ball past Ramos.
Hamland 0-3 Riponia
Dark-horses for the EMU07 crown, Riponia, went through Hamland with ease in their first game.
Alex Kiker began the mid-game scoring blitz with a 30-yard scorcher after 35 minutes.
Tristán Lennon, who had come on early for Daniel Smedley who went off limping, then helped himself to two brilliant goals. On 40 minutes, Lennon's quick run took him past a bewildered Charles Macintyre before he unleashed a curling shot from mid-way inside the area which went around John Smith.
He snatched his second with the last touch of the first half, nodding in Jermaine Routledge's corner at the near post after a blistering run in from the edge of the area.
Kampong 0-2 New Brittania
Thomas Malt and Benjamin Heald got a goal each whilst easing New Brittania past lowly-rated Kampong.
Malt's opener came after 24 minutes, when he tapped in Daniel Perry's low cross.
Heald had to wait until the second half before he could add his name to the scoresheet. He would have made it two before half-time if it wasn't for the woodwork after he tried beating Sann Pheakdei when he noticed him off his line.
His goal came from a shot from Vincent Spencer, which Pheakdei parried straight to Heald's feet. Heald finished it with ease after being gifted with the chance.

Group C, Round 1
Col 1-1 New South Vietnam
The spoils and points were shared between these two evenly matched teams.
Col went ahead in the second half after an uncharacteristic mistake by NSV's Phan Hoang Trần. A simple ball across to Phan was miscontrolled by the Kingsland Maverick's left-back, and Colish forward, Goran Ivanov, raced forward before smashing the ball past Dương.
NSV made sure they didn't dwell on the gap for too long and equalised nine minuted from the end through a Đặng Minh Thach volley from the edge of the area from a Lỷ Minh corner.
Hatay 0-3 Taesong
A brace from Lee Ahl-Yung helped Taesong overcome the massive north-Keltians. Lee Jin-Su rounded off the finishing.
Ahl-Yung's first, brought round from a Hatayyian free-kick, came just before the half-hour. Hatay had found a way down their left wing before a clumsy Lee Nam-Hwan challenge gave them a free-kick. Ibn-Hassan placed it straight into the hands of Kim Yoh-Wan, who then launched a long throw up field to Ahl-Yung, who finished past Said easily.
Ahl-Yung the got his second at the end of the half when he hopefully swung at Nam-Hwan's throw-in. Luckily for Taesong it hit the outside of his boot and went in, rather than ending up in Taesong itself.
The third ended up going in after a two-minute goal-line scramble involving ten players. Lee Jo-Hoon's deflected shot rebounded off Seif Nassir before Jin-Su tapped in from close range.
Durntkinstan 1-4 Passas
Durntkinstan made an impressive start but a mid-second half goal blitz from Passas took them to the top of Group C.
Kenney Dykstra opened the scoring for Durntkinstan after 22 minutes thanks to some good team play between Lee Oakley and Adam Russell. Russell it was who threaded the pass through for Dykstra to toe-poke in his first.
18 minutes later, Passas drew level. A cheeky lob through from Eddie Van Heart bounced over Daniel Marsala, then Phillip Sherman knocked the ball over Lee Campbell with his head.
At half-time Passas swapped James Custis for Łukasz Dąbrowski, this proved to be a good bit of managing only ten minutes later.
Sherman won a corner on 56 minutes, which he took quickly himself. Dąbrowski was in there, and with almost his first touch, put Passas on up.
Dąbrowski then scored again only four minutes later when his pace beat Phillip Taylor-Sneed to an over-hit pass from Verkslamp, he then rounded the 'keeper and slotted home from the six yard line.
He completed his lightning-fast hat-trick on 63 minutes when he broke through the Durntkinstani defence. He was fouled in the area, but his momentum took his left foot into the ball, and he knocked it in through the arms of Campbell.

Group A, Round 2
Cräiteland 7-1 Sharovia
Cräiteland recorded their biggest ever win against a weak Sharovian side. Cräiteland fielded an inexperienced and young team, but a lot of them were part of the same Craitish under-21's who won the world cup in the summer.
Cräiteland started off with swift, smooth football, and were 1-0 up within ten minutes. A Tommy Hjansen shot was parried behind by Pete Jones. Tiem Jones took the corner, and Zen Daviddlaw rose up over Paul Giamatti to head in from four yards.
Cräiteland were 2-0 up shortly after when Tommy Hjansen's long-range effort skidded off the damp turf and went through Jones' arms. Hjansen made it three just before half-time when he raced onto a threaded Jon Larsen pass and flicked the ball past Jones.
The second half didn't bode well for the Riponian-owned islanders, when Hänä Zensen got the fourth with only six minutes on the clock after the restart. He was brought clumsily down by Giamatti, and took the free-kick quickly, catching Jones off-guard.
Jon Larsen added a goal to his earlier assist when he charged forward from right-back and smashed the ball into the top corner on 62 minutes.
David Loresen got a goal also after his skillful play left Oscar Victor for dead, and his left foot curled shot was just too powerful for Jones to react quickly enough to save. 6-0 with 15 minutes to play.
Zen Daviddlaw got his second of the game to make it 7-0 with only three minutes to play. It was almost a mirror image of his first goal, with him heading in Markko Edmildón's corner.
Sharovia got an unexpected consolation goal when a bad pass back towards the defence from Hänä Zensen, went between Freddie Zóma-ó-Täó and Jim Dehbo. Santi Morrissey ran through and beat Kraig Johansen to the ball. His deft flick knocked the ball just enough for it to trickle over the line before Jon Larsen could reach it. A captain's goal for their first ever score.
Nova England 3-0 Benevolent
Nova England continued the group's scoring spree by smashing three past a reluctant-to-shoot Benevolent.
Nova England still had to wait 40 minutes before the deadlock was broken. Callum Sorrel's cross took a deflection off Sean McAuliffe and looped up over the 'keeper, Nick Andersh, and in for the opener.
Nova England then waited to be rejuvinated during half-time, before coming back on to get two.
Ka'an Peterson took a freekick on the edge of the area, on 54 minutes, but he hit it straight into the Benetian wall. Fortunately for Peterson, it was deflected right back into his path, and after a small touch, he fired the ball low and hard into Andersh's bottom corner.
Peterson's second, and Nova England's last of the game, ended up in the same corner, but via a different route. Marcus Downs beat Israel Salas down the right-wing, and crossed the ball in low. Peterson got the all-important touch near the post to flick it in to wrap up the game.
New Nsawam 1-2 Bosworth
Bosworth stole all three points with a controversial penalty late on. The match seemed to b going the way of the draw before a late Bosworth attack resulted in arguments and a penalty.
Bosworth started the game passing their way through New Nsawam, and, on 29 minutes, scored after John Archer bundled in William Hooper's misplaced shot.
Michel Agogo beat Richard Fletcher with a curling shot from a tight angle at pace, thanks to a precision ball from Robert Lee.
After half-time the pace slowed, and no chances were made by either team. New Nsawam brought on Sulley Annan for Pelé Nowusu, but he couldn't make a difference.
With five minutes to spare, Bosworth brought on Oswyn ap Glyndŵr. Not much is known about this 18 year old, but he showed his potential by immediately racing down the pitch, only to be floored in the area by Frederico Jamba. At first it looked a stonewall penalty, and the referee called it as such, but the New Nsawam players protested. Replays later showed contact was minimal. The referee pulled out the yellow card initially for Jamba, the suddenly changed his mind and clocked him with the red. The New Nsawam players went crazy and started arguing with the referee. After two minutes of explaining, Alfred Paintsil and Junior Asamoah were both booked. William Hooper sttod up to take the penalty and struck it to the right of Fredua Abuntu. The 'keeper got his finger-tips to it, but the direction of the shot took it into the net.

OK, everyone.
We're back on track (right before I sod off for a week)
Because of my computer's recent death, I've not had time to do all the games as I would've hoped to, so back to the old FIFA 2000 on the PS2 I went. A bit (lot) of editing and watching later, I've completed the group stages.
I'll make a seperate post for each group after this post with all the results since the tournament was stopped and the final group standings.

Quarter Finals
Nova England vs. New Brittania
Winner Group 1 vs. Runner-Up Group 2
Riponia vs. Taesong
Winner Group 2 vs. Runner-Up Group 3
Passas vs. Interland
Winner Group 3 vs. Best 3rd Place A
Cräiteland vs. New South Vietnam
Runner-Up Group 1 vs. Best 3rd Place B
Interland and New South Vietnam qualify as the two best third-placed teams in the group stage. Interland had a superior points score, whereas New South Vietnam (although they had scored less) had conceded less goals than Kataria.
Quarter-Finals will be played on the 23rd and 24th, but seeing as I'm away, the match reports will be posted next weekend.
