It appears that there is a race to Tarsica between the Empire and the Universalis!

I was just going through Universalis to see if any war-related stuff is present, and ran into their mission to Tarsica (though they call it a moon!). Some nice work there by Demon with regards to the development of the island (even though its just a bunch of random 3D objects thrown about).

Now, I know you are least likely to be aware, but Empire has been planning a mission to Tarsica as well. We expect to be there by mid-December. There's still a bit of ground to cover before a successful mission to Tarsica is possible. But nevertheless, let's have a race!

(sadly, most of the work on the space program in the Empire is being done by an Imperial Organization, which means its hidden to the world... ie, locked forum.)

I thought we couldn't hide that stuff so that we had proof to show we've (or whoever has) been working/progressing at a reasonable rate and with adequate investment for such projects?

This is a general question. I would enjoy a race. The whole point behind Tiberion was to get stuff in space and on the moon.

the natopians have a whole lot of stuff up there... hell, i even bought a spaceship from them back during the days of Karnali... i think K.S.S Avatar is still somewhere out in deep space between Giess and Micras. though, rumors are that they are bound to return back to Micras soon and join the Empire.

anyways, umm.. so does CIS.. and some other nations have a base on Tarsica... the point was that with respect to the Empire, we are in race with Universalis to get to Tarsica.

regarding the question Ryan, I would agree.. the only reason its currently in 'secret' is because its being research by an organization that is working on a few other projects (though the Empire has now asked it to concentrate on the Tarsica mission). regarding adequate investments, that's always going to be a problem. what exactly is an investment? what are resources (manpower, electrical power, materials etc...) and how much is available? etc.. etc... these questions are best avoided, unless you want everything to have numbers on them.. in which case, the game just becomes a bit boring.. and there's no 'freedom' of game play anymore in micronationalism.
with regards to the work progressing at a reasonable rate, i would say that aanything that is not simply grown out of half a day's work (in a single post, that is) is quite valid. the bigger the project, the longer it should take.

for instance, IME's Tarsica project was started on November 19th... and i am most likely planning on landing on Tarsica by December 15th or thereabouts. in micronational terms, that's a long time obviously!
